Flipping channels, I saw a memorial day concert. And I watched it for a couple minutes and I realized that Memorial Day and Veterans Day are becoming the same holiday.
Yes, I noticed the same thing and it is just wrong. It is brought on, however, because no one tells anyone about the difference. This is a day to remember those that gave up their lives for our freedom (misguided or not). Those of us still alive already got our day on Veterans Day. We, of course, use memorial day to remember people that we loved that have passed on. That is OK, that's what it is about.

Hi everybody! I'm back from the Land of the Mouse! Missed you guys!

Eventually, I'll go back and read all the posts since last Saturday. But for now, here's a few comments about my trip; I'll log back on later this morning to catch up.

I had no ADRs, no Fastpass Plus, no Magic Band (I used the plastic ticket instead), and no EMH at AM or PM. (I was at the Swan, so I could have used EMH, but just chose not to.)

Somehow, I still managed to have a great time! I think it's important to point that out; guests like myself prefer to just wing it, while others plan. Either method is fine, depending upon your own particular preferences.

Here's some STAND-BY wait times I had over the past 5 days (please note these are all at random days & times across the parks), and again I really didn't need any Fastpass Plus:

Big Thunder (posted: 30, actual 25)
Kilimanjaro Safaris (posted: 30, actual 30)
Expedition Everest (posted 20, actual 15) Single Rider (when open) 2 minutes
Test Track (posted: 30, actual 20)
Space Mountain (was either 101, or was under renovations--not sure)
Splash (posted 70--I didn't bother; not worth it to me)
Haunted Mansion (posted 30, actual 30)
Small World (posted 30, actual 25)
Soarin (posted 30, actual 30)
7 Dwarfs Mine Train (posted: 50, actual 55*) *The only reason I agreed to wait long for this one was because I've never been on 7 Dwarfs Mine Train since it opened. I thought it was a fun ride, but would never wait that long again; in terms of my other favorite coasters, it was probably my least favorite.
For us ADRs and FP our favs are a must everything else we just go with it.

I wonder too if it is also a bit of burn out with the students by this time of the year, looking forward to some time off? I know this is the time of year my kids that were in competitive choir competitions and the closer it got to the end of school the less motivated they were for all the practices. By the time they did the Spring Musical in the Spring they were pretty much done and still had so much more and for mine they were also back in the water for Club Swim Team.

Speaking of music I wonder if @brifraz is done with all of his concerts for the year, have not heard from him in a while. He should be due for a WDW trip again too. :)

Believe it or not, I do still exist! Just about to wrap up the first year in the new school. Concerts are wrapped up and just Memorial Day parade tomorrow and graduation left for performances. The new gig is far busier and and less well paid than the previous one, BUT, it is still a better job. More support from those in high places and some actual respect for the arts (which was all but non-existant in the old gig). And, yes...35 days to our next trip. Daughter will be doing the Disney Soccer Academy again this year which means another July 4th in the parks. On top of that, we just booked a Christmas/New Year's visit for the end of this year.

I do miss my Saget thraed/chit-chat friends, but my online time is pretty limited these days. Hopefully as we get closer to our next visit and the school year wraps up I will make more than just a cameo appearance here!

I'm friends with one of your former students. She and I go to the same college now. We've discussed the failings of the music program at your old school at length. Glad you are happier where you are now.

Wow, about 2 inches. That's a lot.
Yea, not a weight issue here, either. I was as skinny as a stick at 13. Like I said, I think it may have been the leg bein' in a cast for 4 mos. when I was goin' through a growth spurt.
So sorry about the school. Can't really understand what their problem would have been with you using whatever corrective measures you needed for your physiology.
I really need to get an orthotic (shoe insert). I've thought about it for a long time, but, have yet to do it. I need to do it soon though, because the weight distribution situation is starting to give me issues from time to time.
well, they claim that "only one" having different clothing would be seen as "someone not obeying the rules" and that others would "follow". Which is a pretty stupid excuse.

I do not have any recollection of Jack Paar being very small nor do I remember there being reruns or specials of him.

Yeah I was too. Did CA open both parks again this year or just Disneyland? Disneyland had a better theme.

“Being Up All Night Makes Me Dopey" cute and Hong Kong's 'paint the night', both were great for merchandising.

Yeah, I've been trying to get someone to fess up to has my Mom's Mothers Bible. It has all the birthdates, marriages, children from my Gran's generation forward in it. I don't want to keep it I just want to Xerox it.

Well that is good to hear, you're the first good review I've heard. Even the critic I respect the most because he does't critique the producers/directors filming he goes for enjoy-ability. Even he hated it, gave it a D-

Me, I'd like our District to go to year round school. I like 6 weeks off for summer and that multiple 2 week blocks off during each semester. Makes travel with families easier too, cheaper and often less crowded during the mini breaks.
both parks.
It seems that Disneyland was packed at first.. then everyone moved to DCA.

Meanwhile at Disneyworld, seems 2 parks were up? DHS, Magic Kingdom.. no idea about epcot.

Ha! Women in labor tend to be direct. I was very direct to my DH in what I needed him to tell doctor or nurse. Me, didn't want to do it myself, they had the good drugs.

I just love some of your posts. This one just made me swallow my coffee wrong while I was laughing so hard.

Thanks for the best belly laugh I've had in a long time!:jawdrop::joyfull:
hey, I 'm a manly Mexican man.. but I surely as hell love cutesy things :p
call it my weakness on the level of Achilles' heels.
speaking of heels, I hurt my muscles there when running 2 days ago. I'm still sore :/
I'm going to trash these nike running shoes because they are kinda uncomfortable and now I got hurt using them.
I will keep the other model.

After Disney Quest, we head towards Marketplace and we see 4 food trucks. Each park has a food truck with a little taste of what that park has to offer.

We browse World of Disney before getting on a bus to AKL for dinner at Boma. The server was great and he gave me some of their recipes for their various salads.
