A solar eclipse will happen today (best viewing from California to some areas of Texas). Up here in the Northeast, it will be only about 20% visible. Anyway, the NASA link below has some charts (U.S. and South America) of when and where the viewing areas will occur. (Reminder, protect your eyes.)

apparently, we're getting the eclipse full force in Vancouver.

You literally don't need a map. You just need to say what time they were. Epcot is always at 9 (except for maybe sometimes in the holiday season). They show MK fireworks at a different time. Just check the time and you can tell. Other than NYE, Disney never shows Epcot and MK fireworks at the same time.

For the record, I only said it was more likely that you'd see Epcot fireworks; I didn't say it was impossible to see MK fireworks. Florida is flat as a pancake; you can see things from a great distance.

Also, I am the only one who's allowed to insult my father (well, Figgy's Shady Pines comments are acceptable). But other than that, only me.
by experience, I always noticed there is always a 5-15 second difference during countdown in the parks during NYE.
Fireworks always seemed to start with Magic Kingdom.

Just got back from Emmy’s birthday celebration…!!! :)
Yes, she spent her actual birthday in MK, but, this was for family and friends that weren’t on the trip…!!! :)
Also, the eclipse happened during her party, and we had the special glasses to view it…the eclipse also left a cool pattern on the sidewalk through the tree leaves…!!!

It was definitely MK fireworks, and it was later at night, so it was MNSSHP fireworks.
The red mark in the pic below shows where our room was (#5555), facing directly at MK to the north/northeast.

BTW…
What is Shady Pines…???!!!!! 🤔:D:hilarious:;)

Yeah, my pass is blocked out, so I've never been on NYE. Doesn't matter to me; it saves me like $400 to have two periods blocked out on my pass. Other than that, I've been during Labor Day weekend and on July 4. July 4 was during COVID though and they weren't allowing park hopping; we were at AK that day. Have no idea what was going on with fireworks.

What beautiful, charming young ladies. I'm sure you are having great fun with your granddaughters. I don't have to tell you how quickly they grow up. That little one with the foot up on the platform is just absolutely the cutest thing I have ever seen. And the smile on both of there faces. You are one lucky man my friend.

I'm also impressed over the probable expenditure that is involved with all those matching outfits. It's so nice that they can do that for the girls. In their short life I'm thinking that more money has been spent on clothing then the total I have spent in my 75 years on my own wardrobe. ;););)🙂 It's so great that they will have these years to remember later on and also remember those wonderful trips with Grandpa and the rest of the family.

P.S. This picture also shows that Disney no longer cares if thing go scratched up and weathered. I would think that they could find some paint someplace onsite to spruce up the base of a display that you know is going to be photographed thousands of times.

Thank you so much…!!! :)
They are indeed beautiful and charming, and also very well-behaved, which makes for very pleasant times with them. It’s never fun to be with kids that are having meltdowns every few minutes…!!!!! :hilarious:
Emmy has Megan’s straight hair, Audrey has Daniel’s more curly hair, although much more so.
And, you are correct, Sir…I am one lucky man…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

I let Megan read your post today at Emmy’s birthday party, and she thought it was funny…!!! :)
She said to tell you yes she really likes doin’ the outfit thing, but, she also gets all those clothes at a discount, whether it’s at a thrift shop, a deal she finds online, etc. All the woman in my life are like that, they’re always finding deals (including our AKL stay ;)) like that…!!! :)
Also, Carolyn is known to them as Nana, and I’m Pappy…!!! :)

And yep, the base of that thing is pretty chewed up. I mean, how long would something that small take to refinish…?!

Anyway, thank you again for the kind words…!!! :)

Cool, are they still with y’all…?!
My folks were married in 1960.
They had their 63rd wedding anniversary this past July…!!! :)
No. I seen pictures of both them though and visited their graves every year when I was growing up. I heard great stuff about both of them.

Grandpa had some type of a unknown medical problem and died when Mom was 11 years old:(. Grandma died of a massive heart attack almost 2 years before I was born. I knew Grandpa's older brother and grandma's oldest sister and they were wonderful people.

The longest running married couple ever I knew was my great uncle and his wife. I know they were married for 63 or 64 years.

The party pictures look like everyone was having fun. :)

(Aside of the above), what I really liked were the photos of the pattern of the eclipse, on the sidewalk. (Again, it was a nothing burger up here, so I was glad that others in different states had quite a view!)

I’m very sorry to hear that about your grandparents. I’m sure they were wonderful people, as well…!!! :)

The rest are pretty self explanatory, but, the last one is of leaping waters which may be a bit difficult for some to see…!!! :)
I was actually a doubter on this attraction, but, it was actually pretty cute, and Emmy and Audrey really loved it. A little bit of EPCOT Center throwback “edutainment”…!!! :)
