Hope you two can attend, at the Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center. (I'm assuming that's a very large venue, so hopefully, lots of seating for visitors in the auction area.) From what I've seen from past auctions (on TV), the best days are definitely Friday and Saturday, regardless of the city they're in.) Oh, speaking of Dallas ---

Matt the Hat would fit in there quite nicely! :joyfull:

Yea, we’re still tossin’ the idea around, but, we’ve also got a family WDW trip planned for Oct., and a Carnival cruise in Dec. for our 35th wedding anniversary, and we always pay these trips off before we go. Need to look into how much tickets would be. Also, I would probably need to switch rides with Carolyn, as I’m not too sure my 20-year-old+ ride would make the trip to Dallas and back without issue…although, she has also expressed interest in possibly attending…!!!!!
;):)
We’ll see, fingers crossed…!!! 🤞

Also, it’s actually the Kay Bailey Hutchison (no ‘n’) Convention Center, but, not your fault, as the Mecum guys mispronounced her name every time they said it. She was a US Senator from Texas from 1993-2013 (among other accomplishments), and is still with us at age 80…!!! :)
And, to add, I can’t even remember how many times her name has been mispronounced over the years…!!!!! :hilarious:

And, yes, “Matt the Hat’s” hat alone will probably drive up sales at least 10% in Dallas…!!!!! :hilarious:

This reminds me of hunting on my grandparents farm (on my Pop’s side) in summers of years long ago. When we got back to the farmhouse, sweating like dogs from the heat, my younger bros and I would drink cool water from the well out of a 5-gallon galvanized bucket with a ladle, and our cousins would drink steaming hot coffee…never understood that, and to this day, I still don’t…!!!!! :hilarious: 🤪:hilarious:;):)

Has anyone transferred trains before? I was research trains for my trip and they give you ten or so minutes between your arrival and departure trains which seems doable? Though for older people it doesn't seem very doable. But I never transferred trains before so.

Ten minutes sounds tight because when you have layovers for planes, sometimes you get hours.

Sounds like you have a lot of vacation plans already made. So it's understandable that fitting in another one (even a short one) might be a stretch, at this point. (Too bad the next auction isn't in Austin, as that would be more convenient for you.)

As for the name of the convention center, thank you for the correct spelling and background on that. (I should have double checked the spelling before I mentioned it on here.)

Now, as for Matt the Hat, I think he's worth the door admission ticket price, for his speed talking auctioneer voice -- with or without the hat! :hilarious:

Where? That makes all the difference.

what she said
that and if the train you're transferring from is late you'll have to catch the next train

It's a sickness. There should be some charitable event held to raise money to help those people. That or maybe an intervention and a bit of time at the Juan Valdez Rehab. Center. 😉

Yep, Carolyn, Megan, and Sarah plan and budget these trips, and I just show up as I’m told…!!!!! :hilarious:
But, WDW trips are definitely gettin’ too expensive…!!!!! :greedy::greedy::greedy:

No worries on the spelling. Again, not your fault. Even when she used to be a regular guest on the Sunday morning news shows back in the day, the host would almost always get it wrong…!!!!! 😅

If we do, somehow, end up going, I’ll try to get “Matt the Hat”’s autograph for you…!!!!!;)

Trains are not like going between "gates. The trains I have ridden from a larger station are pretty much loaded beside each other with walkways to the front. So it's only a few feet between one train and the other. Now where 10 minutes could be a problem is here in the states where trains have a very difficult time being on time. However, all of them have the same problem, but it is possible that the one a person needs to catch would leave on time when you arrive late.
