Went to Lowes yesterday, for a few things. Walked in store -- and right at the front -- was a Halloween display with giant spooky "creatures" for sale. (Um, Halloween isn't until Oct. 31st, right?) šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø
Lowes, the hardware or Lowes the Grocery?. Our Lowes Grocery had Halloween stuff up just as you enter the door, as well. Late bird gets the stale worm. Early bird gets the worm that will be stale by the time it is needed.

Crafting/sewing Christmas supplies usually are out by 4th of July. Crafting seasons is one thing but imho the regular stuff needs to wait until a bit closer to the holiday while still allowing for shipping to friends and family members. I know the boxes that get shipped from dh's work need to go out in November
Yeah I can understand that. Itā€™s just hard to look at in August. šŸ¤£

Yep, no joke, I went out at about 5p to make a beer run, and waited about a minute for the heat to clear outtaā€™ my car, before gettinā€™ in and still burned myself on the steering wheel, seat belt buckle, etcā€¦.nothing visible, but, it still hurts a bitā€¦It. Is. HOTā€¦!!!!! šŸ¤£
Meant to mention this morning, that when I was a kid, my mother used to take the family to the beach. When it was really hot, she'd put towels on the seats and a smaller towel draped over the steering wheel. Low tech solution, but it helped when she opened up the hot car! :)

I say whatever worksā€¦!!! :)
When we lived in No Cal from ā€˜68-ā€˜76, we had no in-home central air and none in our car and truck/camper. We really never needed it. Even in the ā€œheatā€ of summer there you quite often needed a sweater or light jacket outside at night, because of the cool air that came over the mountains from the ocean.
Here, itā€™s obviously quite differentā€¦as Iā€™ve posted before, this time of year here, I canā€™t even take a shower as cool as I want, even on the lowest cold settingā€¦!!!!! :hilarious:
Although, neither of our grandparents farmhouses, and most of our relatives, never had any kind of AC when we visited Texas from No Cal every summer, my folks best friends had window units, and an aunt and uncle had central air, both in San Antonio.
And, boy howdy, did they ever blast it coldā€¦!!!!! :coldfeet::cold::hilarious:
Everyone else we stayed with just left windows (with screens, of course) open day and night. Never worried about robbers/burglars in that part of the country, back then.
