All kidding aside, I'm floored by the extremely high temps down there, for such a long time now. I assume you must spend most of your time indoors, which might be frustrating after a while. Hoping for a lower temperature break for you guys down there.
Yep, it’s hot, but, it’s always hot here in the summer, and we’ve been acclimated to it since we moved back here in ‘76.
Our hottest day this year, so far, was 109. Still not as hot as our record setting temp of 112 in both ‘00 and ‘11.
But, yes, it’s always fun in the heat of the day to hafta’ wait about a minute after ya’ open your car door for the heat to dissipate before ya’ get in so ya’ don’t scorch your lungs…!!!!!
Still, for us anyway, we’ll take the heat of the south/southwest over the cold of the north/northeast. Plus, my car doesn’t slip and slide on heat…!!!
Also, as I’ve mentioned before, Carolyn has lived in North Dakota (where she was born), Montana, and Wyoming when her father was in the Air Force, and wants as little as possible to do with cold weather anymore…!!!!!
You said your car doesn't slip and slide with the heat but are there frequent pavement buckling because of the heat? It seems like if the weather gets to be in the high 90's or more around here there are stories of pavement buckling on roadways. Just wondering if perhaps something is done to your pavement to prevent that.
I don't know of any roads that buckle due to heat, but they do that up north due to cold. When water under the highway freezes and pushes the surface above upward. That is how we ended up with so many pot holes. The road rises and breaks up and eventually, through traffic the high part is carried away leaving a hole where the pavement used to be. However, it is true that ice and snow makes you slip and slide. Heat just wears tires faster. It's almost news worthy to see any pot holes down hear unless it is an old road that hasn't ever been repaved. You said your car doesn't slip and slide with the heat but are there frequent pavement buckling because of the heat? Not having any Mango today. I'm having banana cream pie instead. The version of Banana cream pie I'm having is one that doesn't use real banana's but use instant banana cream pudding instead.
