I hope she treats herself. That is really long hours, and lifeguard training can't be easy.

Both of my kids are certified lifeguard and CPR trainer instructors. It is kinda funny cause they tend to audit other lifeguards at other places after all these years. My DS was trained originally by Disney in the College Program and brought back some of his training methods back to the park district. The park district did switch over after to the system Disney used over Red Cross. They were receptive because back in the day their management use to go to Disney Institutes conference for Park Districts as did our school district, prior to the economy crash and funds for inservice and training drying up.

Lifeguards have to go through 24 hours of training along with a 6 hour online class with a test. They also have to test out on all land CPR/AED skills to get a licence. They also are trained in use of backboards in water and stabilizing heads etc to move patrons without causing harm. 4 times a month at an hour per session the lifeguards must attend a skills class to continue to review all the skills taught. Lifeguard certification is much different than when I was young. Their risk management insurance demands it. At Disney Lifeguards are the highest paid CPs in the College Program.

All this training in the Spring to launch the seasonal WaterPark which requires about 150 lifeguards is nice additional income for her and then she'll manage the Park a few days a week and run about 4-5 skill classes a week.
She generally has this money tagged for something expensive she is saving for. They both were managers for the Park District and it taught them how to deal with people diplomatically and to control escalating situations. After DD was hired for her career job her new boss told her that she had never had such a glowing and detailed recommendation from a current employer as she received from her Park District Manager so it wound up being more than an initial high school job for both of them.

My dh and I both have pay as you go. Phone, data and text cost us $7 each per month and we always both roll over a bit of everything. Data doesn't get used much as the with the house wi-fi it's free. Not sure if it's worth much more than that for a kid.

Yeah, like I said I was on the fence having doing it both ways ourselves. As the kids aged our phones became mega communication tools for us. Still is. I have a land line for my business however our phones replaced our regular landline offsetting some of the cost of the family package.

Trip update. We made our fast pass time to toy story mania after Fantasmic. The standby line was actually 40 mins which is pretty low for this attraction. So DW beat my score for the first time! :( My arm go tried at the end. She told me she switched arms before the end so she could switch back to her stronger arm for the last targets. What a cheater!

After that we headed back to the hotel to check in (our room was not ready when we arrived in the afternoon) and prepare for tomorrow. Friend is taking the red eye from Cali tonight and we pick her up at 6am at the airport in the morning. Eh at least we will make rope drop at MK. It is her first time to WDW so it should be a really fun day tomorrow. :)
not cheating, its called strategy ;)

This is what we had last time. I couldn't decide between the Meatloaf and Pot Roast, enjoyed all three choices over the years, so the trio was perfect.

A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes - Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings.

I make the meatloaf at home (still always better when someone else prepares it for ya though), the Chicken is excellent but we have a few places around home that do it as well so I lean towards the Pot Roast when we dine there. But now the lunch and dinner menu at BOG has Braised Pork on their menu and that is my go to for Lunch and it is very similar to the Pot Roast. So the Trio Combo was perfect.

And no, we did not come close to cleaning our plates. I did however finish my Dad's Electric Lemonade. :p
unfortunately, not a big fan of meatloafs

Sounds like lots of fun was had by all! YEA! Next week is my ds's 6th grade concert. I don't think it will be as good as the winter one as they did the music from Frozen in December!

I wonder too if it is also a bit of burn out with the students by this time of the year, looking forward to some time off? I know this is the time of year my kids that were in competitive choir competitions and the closer it got to the end of school the less motivated they were for all the practices. By the time they did the Spring Musical in the Spring they were pretty much done and still had so much more and for mine they were also back in the water for Club Swim Team.

Speaking of music I wonder if @brifraz is done with all of his concerts for the year, have not heard from him in a while. He should be due for a WDW trip again too. :)

Thank you.

We've always kinda been joined at the hip. She was the type of kid that was always a grownup, more so than many grownups I tripped across in life. While my DS and I have a special bond and I've always been his confidant guys are different creatures, just wired differently. Both my kids always knew I had their back and as they became young adults, they have mine. I kinda like this time in my life with them, they are educated, launched careers, we are pretty much at the point that my role as the Mom is over and I get to just enjoy what I brought into the world. It's nice.
