My neighbor has dogs that recently had a litter of ten puppies. I think she said they were short haired pointers. That puppy pile was just about the happiest place on earth though. They were so incredibly cute.

The funny thing was those neighbors are pretty new. They’ve only been here for a few months and nobody knows Them yet. My teenaged neighbor was desperate to meet the pupps but she didn’t want to be awkward or weird. I was like That’s okay! I’ll go with you! Awkward and weird is my specialty!! So we literally knocked on their door, introduced ourselves, and asked to see the puppies 😂😂
I absolutely love that you knocked on their door to see the puppies. I bet your teenaged neighbor adores you now, too. You are awesome!!

@donaldtoo , been out most of this afternoon, so haven't seen much of the auction (last day today). However -- I have seen some very impressive cars that I really liked.

Luckily, I saw my favorite --

1929 Duesenberg Model J LaGrande, Blind Quarter Brougham (dark red with black top), with owner history back to day 1. At $850,000, the bidding was still going on, so I don't know the final sale price yet -- they may disclose toward end of program, if it's in the top 10 today.

Earlier, another fave: 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge convertible, black with all white interior -- $375,000

The Eddie Van Halen car is on now -- 2016 Silver Porsche 911 GT3 RS (Van Halen logo on doorstep  & cool spoiler on back) $235,000

***

Adding here: Just saw an interview with THE HAT!! He has a name: Matt the Hat!! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: (He won some sort of auctioneer of the year for 2022 award.)

(O.k. heading out for dinner now -- repeat of the auction today goes from 6-midnight, EST, if anyone's interested.)

It depends on where you live in the US. In North Dakota, that would be fine, Wyoming as long as it wasn't in either Campbell County or near the Jackson Hole area would also be fine. But in a real urban area like Chicago, or New York, no.
Pretty much any state except Hawaii you can live on that low salary however it may be in a not so good area, far access to certain places, and or living in basic living conditions , having multiple roommates etc.

I got caught up in, and was distracted by, an all day/night MK live stream yesterday and never tuned into the auction…:cyclops:

I was interested in seeing how much that Duesenberg would go for…!!! :)

Yea, the GTO Judges are pretty rare these days, so that price doesn’t surprise me.

As far as Eddie Van Halen’s Porsche goes, he passed a while back. Was it being sold by his estate/family, or had somebody else purchased it shortly after his death and sat on it for a while…?!
Just curious.

Oh, and “Matt the Hat”…!!!!! :hilarious:

The $12 TX size glazed donut is a big as a person’s head.

It is indeed (although, I’ve seen many adults with smaller heads)…!!!!! :hilarious:
I was first introduced to Round Rock Donuts back in the day when I was attending Round Rock High School. Almost every day in my 3-hour-long morning vocational drafting class (there was 3-hour-long afternoon class, as well), a student would be allowed to make a Round Rock Donuts run.
We also have Krispy Kreme, Shipley, Dunkin’, etc.
I, truly, have never had a better donut. EVER. They are just insanely good…!!!!!!! :joyfull::hungry:

One of my favorite guilty pleasures used to be donuts, sadly now, just looking at that picture, I put on about 12 pounds. Sometimes life is quite unfair!

Yea, we don’t get them very often, for obvious reasons. In fact, I think the last time we picked some up was last year sometime…? 🤔
Right after I took that pic, and before I took my first bite, I thought to myself…”Are these gonna’ still be as amazing as always…?!”.
To say I was not disappointed is a major understatement…they were as AMAZING as always…!!!!!!! :joyfull::hungry:
The place has been around since 1926, and they long, long ago perfected everything they produce…!!! :)

I'm sure we all have something like that and most of the time it is no longer available. I was born and raised in upper, upper New York State. In our town there were four major fast food places that all started as curb service restaurants. You pull into the parking places surrounding the building (they had inside service too) and people would come out and take your order, and bring it out to you and attached the trays to the window. Three of those specialized in something called a Michigan Red Hots. There was one in particular that, to our family, stood out and was our favorite treat. (The fourth one was an A&W Root Beer place which also got a lot of our business) A Michigan Red hot was a boiled hot dog, on a special made steamed roll that was slit on the side instead of the top, and covered with a type of chili sauce with a strip of yellow mustard, that would fill up the remainder of the roll like a little boat. You could get onions on them also. It was delicious.

I was 5 when I had my tonsils out and on the way to the hospital the night before, I was asked what I would like for dinner, A Michigan and a chocolate milk was my reply. About two years later, by chance we were living almost exactly across the road from the place. When I was 15 we move out of NY and moved to VT where what passed for a Michigan didn't even come close. We made many trips back to NY to visit family and whenever anyone went there they were obligated to bring some back.

The guy that both had the recipe and was always there 7 days a week actually doing the cooking eventually sold out and sadly passed away shortly after that. It was never the same. I have searched the internet for years now trying to recreate the sauce and finally found one that was pretty close just a couple of years ago. But without the steamed special roll it just isn't the same, but close enough for me. I still don't have them very often, but typing this out makes me want to try it out one more time.
