You know, in spite of the gut wrenching guilt that comes with not being able to make a 29 year marriage work, looking at it objectively, it is so much less complicated to be single and way, way cheaper. 🤔 😮‍💨🙂

the Kids are all grown, married and out on their own.
I would have been in college when my parents were married 29 years and my brother was still a minor...so that would have been a nope. 🤣

However, being single does have its perks. Cats don't talk back.

Big name, but her peak was before my time. She got her start when my parents were growing up in the 1960s.

When the name Raquel Welch gets mentioned, her poster being in the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" is the first thing that comes to my mind. I mention that because saw the movie back in the 90s at school and her poster was treated as a big name in the movie.

RIP.

My kids had just finished college and had gotten married, one two years before and with an infant of her own. It was close to the same time. However, no alimony, or child support and easily divided property. We both knew it was done and it was probably harder on our grown children then on us. Dating is actually more complex and expensive than being married and although I did that for a while after our divorce, the shine wore off that process really quickly. That all said, I am glad I never missed out on the institute of marriage and would do it all the same again. (well, with maybe a couple things different) but basically the same.
