Apparently they're staying on the monorail loop and were a bit clueless. I told them to go take a bus because they'd be stuck if they tried to go over to Epcot.
No kidding. It's a nice walk from DHS to the front of EPCOT during the day but at night :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious: and skyliner to EPCOT? walking is just as fast or the boat more relaxing imho

I just stopped some people at DHS who thought they could take the gondolas to Epcot to then transfer to the monorail...so my good dead for the day is done. 😂
Can you not take the skyliner from HS to Epcot? I've never been on it, but I know the monorail goes from Epcot. Sure, you'd have to go through the park, but as long as you have park hoppers, you could do it.

The problem is that you have to have tickets to enter epcot to get to the monorail.

The Skyliner leaves you on the dolphin/UK side.

So if you do not have an EPCOT ticket, you wont get to the monorail that is by the entrance of EPCOT. I mean, you could go back to the Dolphin, or Swan and take a bus from there but.. why? just take one BUS from DHS to your hotel or go to the transportation bus from there and take the monorail loop from MK.

Right, but like I said, they COULD do it if they had park hoppers. I love walking through the world showcase, though, so to me, that would be the way to do it...nice leisurely stroll from the IG through to the front gate....maybe the long way around to catch a couple pavilions and a trip to Karamel Kuche for a snack on the way, and then a quick stop at SSE, then to the monorail. But that's just me.

If you note the time @StarWarsGirl posted, it was after 10 pm. So while yes, you can take the Skyliner from HS to Epcot, Epcot closed at 9 pm and those guests would not be allowed to enter the park and would be SOL.

Ah, well that WOULD put a damper on things then. They'd have to walk back to yacht and beach club and take a bus to a park or DS just to get back. Sometimes I wish there were resort loop buses to go between certain resorts. Like maybe between all the resorts in one area....like all the resorts in the AK area, all the ones in the DS area, all the ones in the MK area, etc. It would certainly be handy for ADRs....like if you could go from one of the all-stars to AKL for your Boma breakfast without having to go to AK first. But from a financial aspect, it probably wouldn't be a good idea because they aren't well traveled routes, so I get why they DON'T. I just wish they would. I always plan my dining according to which park we're visiting each day. If we're at MK, I make a dining reservation for one of the resorts in the MK area with access via boat or monorail...like Ohana, or Whispering Canyon. If we're at AK, I make one for Sanaa or Boma. But it would be really nice if I could go between resorts that are close together directly.

I am not going to watch the Super Bowl tomorrow. I'll be having frozen pizza tomorrow though.

One of my all time favorite Super Bowl Commercials is this one:

So instead, you can watch Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. That's always fun! I don't know what time it airs in your area of the country, but over here, it's 2:00 PM, Eastern.

I solve that whole confusing problem by driving my own car or a rental. WDW is a lot easier to navigate than most people think.

As a further thought, I always attempt to plan my travel time to get to or next to WDW by no later then late afternoon. I never plan on wasting a day ticket by going there after I arrive in the area. My plan is to always go the next morning. Because I have transportation at my fingertips after I settle in my room, explore the area I'm in and therefore know ahead of time how to get places I want to go too. If I'm exploring for eating establishments I want to go to or attractions, I find the lay of the land. Same for WDW itself. If it is some place I haven't been before (which is kind of difficult at this point) I don't want to be in heavy traffic trying to find my way around. It's just part of my routine and doing so, I find many new things to see and get comfortable with my surroundings and eliminate a whole lot of stress. Also because of the fact that I almost always stay offsite, I find the nearest supermarket to pick up some snacks and drinks for my room and places to buy Disney Souvenirs at half the price. Surprisingly quality stuff with the Disney label.

It didn't involve a whole lot of planning when I started this habit, it was out of necessity on my first trip with my family. I needed to find a way to do it at the lowest price possible. And they say necessity is the mother of invention. It always worked for me and in the process literally saved thousands of dollars over the years and never felt that I missed out on anything. I did stay onsite once and found it more frustrating and massively more expensive and never was tempted again.
