I’m in the Twilight Zone - but this mango blonde ale is fab.
OK. The place is called Mission BBQ. I had to take my Honda in for an oil change this morning. There was an Office Depot going out of business next door, so I thought I'd check it out while I waited the estimated 90 minutes to get my car back.

Well, the Office Depot is only at 10-30% off, so it's too early for a shopping spree. But in the plaza was this Mission BBQ place, and I had time to kill, and my laptop on hand in need of wifi.

You know I love my pulled pork. So I ordered that (as an entree, not a sandwich.) Didn't manage a pic of it before digging into the tower of pork.

It's a little early for me to eat heavy, I didn't order any sides, just the pork and the beer. They brought it to my table very fast, and explained the 6 different BBQ sauces (3 sweet, 3 hot, all excellent. I experimented all over the place.) They suggested sides and said they offer free sides to all first-timers. I said I was trying to watch carbs, but would take the baked beans.

Everything was excellent. I'm getting a little work done. At noon, there is an announcement asking everyone to please stand for the national anthem. All the TV's turned to a picture of the flag (not to mention there' a huge one hanging from the ceiling) and all employees and customers stopped what they were doing and stood up. It was kind of cool and kind of creepy at the same time. (Where the heck am I? I don't see any political stuff around, just military stuff. OK, that's more cool than creepy.)

Then the guy comes back and says, "I know you said you're watching carbs, but how about at least some bread pudding on the house?" I said, "Of all things for you to offer me..." Of course, I took the bread pudding. He said typically with new guests, they just give you all 6 sides on the house. (I guess I was being difficult because I'm in training at the gym for...oh, I don't know what - give me that bread pudding!)

Everything was excellent. Best time I've ever had waiting for my car to get done!

Still, it felt like the Twilight Zone: Tower of Pork.
