@MinnieM123, the last time we saw the Thunderbirds was in the mid 90’s at what is now our Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, formerly Bergstrom Air Force Base, during its transition.
There was also other fun stuff, including an F-16 that you could sit in, a roped off F-117 stealth fighter, that four soldiers with M16s were guarding, a walk through a C-5B Galaxy, a maneuverability demonstration by an F-15 Eagle, etc. All 3 kiddos were there with us that day, and Sarah was still in a stroller.
One of the more memorable demonstrations that day was a JATO takeoff of a C-130 “Fat Albert”…!!!!!!! :joyfull:

So for the past few days, Jasmine has been hanging out in my room. I've barely been able to get her to come out of my room, even to eat. Of course, I was getting worried about her because she's very food motivated.

I finally lured her downstairs with food...it turns out that there was a balloon that my brother brought home that she was afraid of. She is afraid of balloons. 🤦‍♀️ The balloon has been moved to my brother's room.

Wow! Love the fire trail (not sure what the technical term is for it)!

The video photographer captured the image perfectly.

Yep, I always thought it was RATO (Rocket Assisted Take Off). I Googled, and apparently the terms seem interchangeable.
Either way, very cool.
The rockets make the angle of attack at that crazy climb rate possible. Just awesome to see in person…!!! :)
BTW…
Not my video…
I’ve got it on VHS somewhere, but, it’s probably dust by now, unfortunately…!!!!! :hilarious:
