Joke is funny, but what really caught my attention was the color of the cat's eyes -- they appear to be a shade of amber. Along with the beige/brown fur, they're stunning. Not sure if I've ever seen amber eyes on a cat before.
Jasmine had amber eyes as a kitten. Then they changed to yellow. It was disappointing; she looked really unique. Still love my furry black blob, though.

Here's Jasmine from back when she had more amber eyes.

Jasmine is beautiful. You see, I never particularly took notice of the color of her eyes back then, and you'd think I would -- as a contrast to the black fur. Yet, it was just something about that photo that Figgy shared, with the caramel color of the cat's fur, complementing the amber eyes -- stunning! :)

Rainy farm market Saturday here and 62. It’s cold🙁

Rainy and cool here (58 now) this morning. The cool is welcome it was in the mid-80's and humid this week. That is not welcome to me now because my classroom only has no AC and only one window. And that one window gets a lot of afternoon sun and right outside my room is the blacktop of the parking lot and a brick wall which makes a little oven area so a lot of hot air. My classroom was so miserably hot this week, it was tough for all of us to concentrate.

I grew up with no AC and barely functioning heat in school , non existent in the school bus so as a young one I had to toughen up and get used to it. Recess was fun we ran around playing dodge ball at lunch time every day which got the blood flowing.

I grew up in a school and rode buses without AC as well. Thanks for the advice to toughen up. I'll keep that in mind when my students and I are all in a hot, humid, stuffy room sweating just sitting there, I already thought we were troopers. I also teach older kids that do not have recess. I actually was proud at how well we did but clearly no match for how well you could have done.

I should have reworded - I got used to no AC in elementary schools in the early 1970s. Pre 1960 about 10% of population had AC so most I assume a number of folks adapted to the conditions at that time. When you experienced this when you were young perhaps to improve the situation - adjust schedules due to the heat , use circular fans to help move hot air. One thing that helped me cool down when I lived in an apt with no AC was having a fan on high blowing in front off a bowl of ice cubes for makeshift AC.m, hydrate with cold water ,just a few things that came to mind . Not the greatest contraption ice with fan but it helped.

We did have fans going in our classrooms this week but again great advice. And it’s tough to have the windows open in my classrooms and the ones next to me because we are literally next to blacktop and then low brick wall, it creates an oven type effect and windows open just suck in that hot air. Adjusting schedules aren’t an option except in extreme situations and luckily this wasn’t extreme just uncomfortable for all present.

We had no busses in our district so everybody walked and only the A/C was in the new part of the high school. All the buildings had excellent heat:joyfull:
