I found that was more if you were taking the "super" pain killers. The mix can be dangerous if they interact negatively with the medicine. But I'm not a Doctor and I don't even have a white lab coat so what do I know. Dry socket is indeed a threat and something worthy of avoidance. A few say you can drink after 72 hours. Tomorrow evening, I will be at about 100 hours, so I might decide to fall off the wagon, but they say you could catch something called "dry socket" which sounds really gross and painful, so I don't know.
