I don’t think I’ll be healed for at least a week but at least I have frozen peas to wear as a fashion accessory!

In my younger days, I started with what was called "Rye and Ginger". Then I went to more sophisticated "Tom Collins". After that I got into "Bacardi and Coke". That is still one that I would go back to if I wanted a hard drink. Feeling the need to boast up my Vitamin C, I fell into the "Screwdriver" desire. That quickly passed and was replaced with "Bloody Mary's". After Vietnam I fell down the ladder to "Boone's Farm Apple Wine" and "Boone's Farm Strawberry Fields". After that for a few years I tended toward "Schlitz" beer, “the beer that made Milwaukee famous,” and became the only beer I liked until I lost all desire to drink alcohol completely. I guess I never did really enjoy the taste of alcohol of any genre. I can't even tell you when the last time was that I had a beer. I occasionally have a glass of wine about every six months. (PS.. In Vietnam I got into beer on ice. Unless it was constantly ice cold it just tasted to bitter to me.)

I almost forgot that for a little while I was known to consume Cherry Flavored Vodka and Coke which tasted surprisingly like Cherry Coke. It has been well over 30 years since I imbibed in that. Even when I was drinking a little it was never a constant thing. I had to correct them on my VA medical history because I was asked if I drank. I said not now but I used to when I was young and first in the service. They interpreted that like this... "was once a heavy drinker". I said, I did go out to the clubs and was known to get to talking funny because my lips would go numb, but I was in the service for 4 years and those times amounted to about 6 times. I don't know what is actually called "heavy drinker" but that isn't what I would call it.

We had a forecast today of 100 degrees. Right now it is 91. We have had cloud cover all day. Yesterday it got to 99. Outside... In my apartment it has stayed at a steady 72 and since I had no particular place to go, I just stayed in and did my laundry. Just try and keep up with my pace!

I need to make this

I'd pass.

I can tell you the Bayside Tavern in Door right now is offering a seasonal alcoholic drink right now called cherry Bomb according to their facebook page.

Cherry Bomb is a drink made with Vodka, and fresh, tart Orchard Country Cherry Juice. This drink seasonal due to it being in cherry season. The tart Orchard cherry juice is from the cherries grown and bottled by Lautenbach Orchards.

Here is a link to a facebook picture of the drink.
Cherry bomb

I can't say if its good since I have no plans on trying. I am not into vodka or mixed drinks.
