I can't remember the last time I was through the tunnel. I believe it must have been when I went down to do a Saint Bernard rescue. For some reason nobody wanted to transport the dogCouldn't tell you. I try to avoid the tunnel. Unless there's a bad accident on 695, there's never a good reason for me to take the tunnel.
Back when as Vermonters we were extremely excited about the prospect of driving underwater, it was a highlight of the trip to Florida to get to the tunnel in Baltimore. It didn't take much for us to have that basic a sense of adventure at the time. I stopped enjoying that at about the same time as I stopped enjoying paying all the tolls on the Garden State and Jersey Turnpike, the Delaware Bridge and the toll for the tunnel. And don't even get me started on the belt around Washington followed by the I-95 parking lot just to the south of DC. I also got sick of the overall traffic so I took the wide sweep around those areas through Penn. and doubled back across and met up with I-95 at Fredericksburg. I'd have to say that by the time we got to the mid 90's, I was over the tunnel and the area and I don't recall going that way since around that time.I can't remember the last time I was through the tunnel. Something I didn't see at all but for the first time a few years ago. I was driving I-95 S through Baltimore and I noticed for a few miles not one car on the Northbound I-95. Thea. all of a sudden I saw several law enforcement vehicles escorting approx 3 tour busses headed towards Baltimore. Behind the tour buses followed hundreds of cars on I-95N. It turns out members of Congress from DC under police escort , were all going to Baltimore to attend a peer's funeral. No traffic was going to get in their way.Back when as Vermonters we were extremely excited about the prospect of driving underwater, it was a highlight of the trip to Florida to get to the tunnel in Baltimore. Jasmine definitely talks back. Especially if you tell her to get off your chair. It's like "Meow!" But she replies.
See, to someone not from here that would be unusual, but to us it's like...yeah...Something I didn't see at all but for the first time a few years ago.
