@ImperfectPixie -- how much additional snow did you end up getting last night? From yesterday through last night, I think we got around 6 inches (it was only forecasted to be 1 . . . :p ). Shoveled last night, and this morning it was all covered back in. However, it was light and fluffy, at 4:30 this morning when I went out there, so I knocked out the front steps, sidewalk and back of driveway in only 20 minutes. Easy peasey. :)
We were only supposed to get like 3 inches...ended up with about a foot and a 2 hour delay for school (should be longer...2 hours isn't long enough to snowblow our driveway and clean up the mess the plows make!)

I never watch football, let alone the Super Bowl. However --

I do watch the halftime shows only. I wanted to see the show last night because I know practically nothing about hip hop music, and I knew that they had some big name performers (I'm familiar with the faces of the musicians, but not so much the actual music). Anyway, I thought the show was entertaining; something different anyway.

That said, I agree with you, Figgy, that I'd prefer a mix of different music for a wider audience. Yet, when I recalled some past halftime shows, I think they usually lean toward maybe 1-2 headliner stars, at the most. (Examples, Prince, Madonna, Katy Perry, others -- and they'd all have their own style of music, so to speak) If I'm wrong, jump in here. I haven't seen all the halftime shows, but a number of them from various years.
I'm grateful we don't have to mess with all the superbowl hype here. It's not my thing. I don't watch or care about football, and the only performer I recognized was Snoopdog, because he was in Pitch Perfect 2. The only thing I ever liked about the Superbowl was the commercials.

So you have no reason to watch it at all then? Commercials have been generally terrible for many years now. I did learn that everyone is making electric vehicles, different companies now want to you take your investments in stocks and crypto, and beer doesn't exist (but seltzers are the best thing ever?!?).

Actually I did notice that there will be a flaming hot, cool ranch doritos flavor soon. So that's something.

Well that sounds like an epic failure of the weather reporter! Yikes! Why not just have a snow day?
We have a relatively new Superintendent...the old one would have made the call and had a snow day. We're also in MA, and the parents around here can be brutal, so everything is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. (Don't get me started on mask rules.)

So really the attitude of the whole country.

The storm that came like five years ago that kids were stuck on buses for hours going home freaked all of politicians and school admins here.
I remember that. I just would tend to err on the "better safe than sorry" side when it comes to transporting kids. Thankfully this snow was pretty light and the roads seem very clear (though I haven't ventured out yet, so God only knows...our stretch of road is usually very clear before even other sections of the same street 🤷‍♀️).

Here in the UK most commercials are for cremation or funeral plans, over 50s life insurance (leave something for the kids!. Fat chance I spent enough money raising mine already) and mobility scooters. I love watching the US insurance ads on Pluto TV, Limu emu and Doug! The Geico ads with Angry Birds and Animal from The Muppets and even the washing liquid ads are funny! I did see the car ad with Eugene Levy and I enjoyed that more than the half time show.

You know a company is bad when they say job position is available.. after the initial assessment you get scheduled for an interview.. 14 days later. Get to the interview and suddenly.. when everyone who is applying for the same row of positions..
The scheduler says HI, and then tells everyone that X and Y and Z jobs were already filled.
Then why waste our time?
Why have you not updated your own internal job system? o_O
Even Disney is faster than this lol.

I'm so very sorry this keeps happening to you. I'm sure some company will find themselves very lucky to have you as an employee. To the carpy HR department

Just watched the half time show at the Superbowl. Not my cup of tea, I shall say no more.
It was ok but kudos to Orlando volunteers inviting the nearby homelessness to the "Super Soul Party " at Orlando City FC soccer stadium near the downtown area to watch the Super Bowl to include a free meal and one person giving out free haircuts. The Superbowl may brighten a person's day.
