I was VERY into cars when I was young...did a lot of work on my cars myself. At one point, I was building a custom Camaro out of three different models of Camaros. Then I met hubby, and he lived over an hour away from me, so my years of long commutes started in earnest.I admire all your expertise in driving a manual. As it is, I can't even drive an automatic correctly!
We're getting flurries on top of the ice. I may need a zamboni to clear the white sheet down to where we can salt. Thank goodness none of us has to go anywhere until Monday night. Lost track of how many times the city salt trucks have passed by outside here. The weight of the ice on power lines, etc., is the concern.
Luckily there are some cars with hybrid gear style. Sports cars mainly, which have a manual stick with 5 speeds plus the automatic and reverse.

Every bit of vegetation including the trees is covered in about a third of an inch or more of ice.
Ice here started around 1300 and there is a layer out there now

A few years later, when the kids were old enough, I also invested in a 24 ft. above ground swimming pool. The girls spent every waking moment of the summer it that pool. I spent the equivalent of a yacht in money keeping that the proper color. So a big circle filled with water that constantly required pouring money into.

Apparently it was in the 80s today in WDW and is supposed to drop in the 60s. I'm furious.
