You think websites would agree that you double the yeast if you're doubling a recipe with yeast but they don't

I don't recall this cookie though my family reunions had a lot of cookies I don't recall names of.

Seems easy to make though. Though if you google search Espiros with the recipe that they have. Totally not the same cookie.

I make a Portuguese cookie called areiras. My favorite though is a German cookie called Pfeffernusse.

Are the Pfeffernusse cookies covered in chocolate, or dusted in powdered sugar, or just plain? We have what looks to be the same thing and translates the same..."Pepper nuts" (pepernoten here) They are very small...they kind of look like dry dog food, really. But they are kind of a gingerbread-like thing. They are popular around Sinterklaas, and you can get them plain or covered in chocolate.

My sister is 4 ft 8. She is the shortest in our family. My other sister is 5 ft 4 and so is Mom. Dad is 5 ft 7. My Mom has two brothers that are 6 ft.

So not fair for your sister! I hate being the only "short" person in my family. My brother is 6'4", my mom was 5'10" and my dad was a bit taller than her, and I'm stuck down here at 5'5.5" or so. I'm the only one who didn't get the height gene, I guess.

Not here. Average height here is taller, so I'm considered short and I always have to hem my pants several inches.

I saw A Charlie Brown Christmas the other night, on PBS. Love that show -- in my top 3 "must see" shows every year at Christmas time.
