I burst out laughing over this! "They" do tend to like public places when they can find them, and humiliate their owner. I'll never forget my first dog (two dogs ago), when I took her out one night. Found a few discrete (dark) spots in the neighborhood, but she wanted no part of that. So where does she pick to do her business? She picked the brightest street lamp on the street!!
(Had my clean-up bag with me, and obviously picked up after her -- but you know that there would be people watching out their window -- to make sure she didn't "leave" anything in front of their house!)
