Drove by Catfish Parlour around 12:30 on my way home.
The place was packed yet again. Being this is the last day it’ll ever be open, we can hopefully at least get some to go, but, there’s no way we’re gonna’ try to brave the crowds and eat there.
Very sad, and I wish there was some way it could have been saved, but, it is what it is.
So long, old friend.

Pics in honor…

It's always sad when a favorite place closes so the like is for the great memories you and your family have had over the years

Although your (local) restaurant is closing for other reasons (retirement of owner), there have been so many changes in the restaurant business over the past 2 years -- everywhere. What I enjoy about your restaurant (from your reviews/photos) is that it's got its own individual character, great food, and a loyal following. That's not something easily replaced. I've known a place or two similar in these characteristics over time, and when they're gone -- they're GONE. They're a lot more than a menu, good food, and service. :(

Yes, too many one-of-a-kind restaurants have closed, mostly because of the damndemic.
This place is iconic.
I think the one in Georgetown is pretty much a clone, as it’s run by their son, and I’ve seen an interview with him, and he runs it exactly like the original (he said he learned everything from his parents and doesn’t vary), but, it’s a bit of a haul to get there.
But, I’m sure we’ll go from time to time…!!! :)
