I beg your pardon; I'm a gourmet chef. I cooked a meal that had FOUR steps to it last night. :cautious:

1. Remove cover. 2. Add water to line in cup. 3. Microwave for 2 minutes. 4. Stir in cheese packet.

I'm not 100% sure (it's been a while since I took the continuing education course) but I believe you'll have Medicare plus a supplemental insurance plan. Once you turn 65, you pretty much go onto Medicare with a supplemental plan.
When you sign up for Social Security you automatically get Part A. That is coverage for a certain degree of hospitalization costs. At that time you also are given the opportunity to get Part B which is a certain degree of coverage of Doctor's fees. That part costs you and is deducted from your SS payment. I'm not sure if it is a sliding scale or not, but for me it would have been a deduction of $147.00 per month. That is the "get up to $147.00 added back to your SS check". I'm not sure how that works because since my health care is through the Veterans Admin. I never had it taken out to begin with. However, whenever one applies for SS that part A is automatic and is no charge.

She did. Her pension and insurance is crazy good, but after 65 medicare became primary and her insurance secondary.
Only if you sign up for the whole package. Many people for some strange reason do not even sign up for SS, if you don't then Medicare does not enter the picture. If you do then Part A is mandatory, but it isn't primary when it comes to Doctor fees, just hospital and even then it isn't always clear which one is being asked to pay some things.

Working poverty is much higher here than our politicians would care to admit.
That's world wide and it doesn't matter what you have as a system. Socialism does not equal income that's communism's equal share of the wealth. That one is even worse. Unfortunately, people here are unable to recognize the difference between the two.

Forgot to post this last night…
Catfish Parlour is closing…!!!!!!!!!!! :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
We are heartbroken.
Nothing to do with Covid, the owner just wants to retire.
The story was on our morning news yesterday. Last day of business is this Friday. When I drove by on the freeway home last night the place was packed. Vehicles were parked in the grass, and there were about 50 people waiting on the front porch.
There are still 2 locations that will stay open, but, one is way south and the other way north. The son runs the one way north, but, this is the original location, just down the road from us, that opened in 1973.
Not sure why the son, another family member, or selling to someone else to keep it going isn’t happening. 🤷‍♂️
My guess is he got offered some outrageous number :greedy: for the land that he couldn’t pass up, and will retire in style.
Been goin’ there since 1976, and we took our kiddos there frequently.
Best catfish I’ve ever eaten, and even the fried spicy oysters and jumbo shrimp are amazing, not to mention the one-of-a-kind slaw, beer beans, hush puppies, and jalapeño tartar sauce…!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::hungry:
I guess we’ll just hafta’ be makin’ our way north from time to time, now…!!! :)
