I know I’ve posted this before, but, Carolyn and I originally planned to have 4 kiddos. We are both 1 of four siblings.
When special needs DS (Matthew) was born 17 months after our oldest DD (Megan) we decided to cut 4 to 3, and wait a few years. Well, as they say, the best laid plans…!!!!! :hilarious:
As a result, the difference in age between oldest and youngest is about 3 years and 2 months.
Shortly after youngest DD (Sarah) was born, I had a procedure done…. :cyclops::hilarious:
I don't think my parents tried for a 3rd or if they did, it was a short time. What I know mom did develop hashimoto's before she turned 36 years old and had one side of a thyroid removed. People with hashimoto's have a difficult time getting pregnant.

My mom became a stay at home mom and my dad worked. At the same time, I think might have been a good thing with only 2 now adult sons. My mom was giving birth to big ox's. It would've been likely mom give birth a 3rd time meant a c-section.

I was born late and I was 8 pound and 11 ounces and the doctor was shocked how big I was considering the size mom. Mom got lucky with my younger brother being born 2 and half weeks early. Mom was lucky because according to the doctor that if my younger brother was not born early, he would've been a 10 pound baby with mom needing c-section done.

DWifey gave birth to oldest DD vaginally. She was a week late and 8lbs 8oz.
Special needs DS was born by c-section 3 months early (he was also 1 month in utero growth retarded) at 1lb. 4oz.
Youngest DD was born by c-section about right on time at 7lbs. 13oz.
I was born 7lbs. 11oz.
Pic below of DS in the NICU shortly after he was born…note the Bic pen above him for size reference…

Ah, yes. If NYD falls on a Saturday, we get Friday off. If it falls on a Sunday, we get Monday off. Similar with Christmas. If it falls on a Saturday, we get Thursday and Friday off. If it falls on a Sunday, we get Monday and Tuesday off.
Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday, so…

All of them to be honest.

1. Very few people qualify for the extra money, but they pretty much tell everyone they do. Once you have switched it is very hard to switch back. 2. If you paid into a part B plan you may be eligible, but it is money you have already paid. If you cancelled part B you could get that back without switching.
3. Your co pays are based on income and unless you have no other income, savings, or assets, you will not get cheaper than medicare. In the vast majority of cases the copay will be higher.
4. In very few instances will many qualify for dental that didn't already qualify under another benefit plan such as Medicaid.
5. Things like you may qualify for rides to doctors appointments maybe true, but are not through the supplemental plan but through resources that already exist in a community.
6. Another favorite is we will send a check for over the counter medications. Some do, but it is a small amount and you buy it from them. Think of a 27 dollar bottle of Tylenol.

Everytime you hear one of the commercials, count the number of times they use "May" and the number of times they guarantee anything. My sister is a shrink specializing in Geriatric medicine. She screams at the television every time one of these adds run.
Also, if there are tons of commercials.. these needs to be paid somehow. Specially if they have big stars.
commercials aren't cheap.

We agreed that only two was sufficient as well. Didn't guarantee, just didn't try. Now they they have grown up they have remained flowers but I am the only gardener left and they are sometimes more work then before. I, however, have a trick up my sleeve, if history tends to follow a normal process, I am expecting to be the flower before long. :D There even is a real possibility that it has started already.

Not to blame it on that, but old age must be catching up. I stated that there were no guarantee's, but I apparently lied. When you posted that last thing all of a sudden I remembered something vitally important. The day after my youngest was born my wife had a tubal ligation which is pretty much a sure no more kids proposition. I was willing to do the other but she insisted. She was about 8 years older than me, and felt that I might want more if something happened to her. My sensitive response was... "why in the hell would I want more at that point. If something happened to you, I would still have two kids to take care of". She, however, was a strong willed woman and insisted.

OK, that makes a little more sense, but to be fair every day to a retiree is a Federal holiday. 🥳
Then there is me who has to work Christmas Eve, Christmas day, NYE and day extra hours:banghead: Those are eating days in my house
Christmas Eve is the feast of the 7 fishes, Christmas is a roast with all the fixings and maybe BBQ also if it's warmer, NYE small plates, NY day a long noodle dish & maybe BBQ if it's warm enough
