Last night, we only had about 25 kids stop by for treat or treating -- way less than I had expected. I would have thought many kids would have been out because it wasn't raining, it was a weekend night, etc. (Dumped the rest of the candy out afterwards -- I have no willpower if candy is conveniently available at home. ;) )

We had zero. Everyone had either parties at home or went downtown to the festivities. We haven’t had any for years. So I don’t bother with buying candy.

Our town does a trunk or treat and our church participates in that and my husband hands out candy there. We put a note on our door for people to go to trunk or treat for candy. We don't buy any to hand out at home anymore, just for the church to give out at trunk or treat. I still had a couple people knock on the door but I had the drapes close, porch light off and doors locked so I didn't open the door. The knocks were pretty forceful so I assume it was adults or teens and not little kids knocking, I guess they thought the sign didn't apply to them which was annoying because it got the dog worked up. Apparently there were over 400 kids at the trunk or treat in our town.
