Of all the vehicles I’ve driven, I’ve only ever named 2.
My first car, and the last car I owned before my present ride.
My ‘71 Olds Cutlass I named “Ol’ Bessie”, and after a hail storm a coupla’ years after I bought my ‘96 Hyundai Accent I named it “Lilly Dimples”…!!!!! :hilarious:
I only named my first new car and that was just a spur of the moment name because someone asked my if I had named it. I instantly came up with Edith. No reason other than I just watched All in the Family and that was the first name that came to me. I bought that car right after I returned from Vietnam. I had it when I dated my wife, used it on our honeymoon, took and returned my wife and baby's to and from the hospital when they were born. I owned it for over 8 years and it never really let me down, but it was starting to act like it didn't want to start. We lived out in the country and I had two young children and I started to not trust it to go when I needed it to take me places. I finally traded Edith in and instantly regretted it. I'm sure she is in the old car lot in the sky. My father told me that we should have had it bronzed and placed on the mantel as an important family memory. Unfortunately, I didn't have a mantel at the time.

I did name the built in GPS in one of my cars Ida. That was my mothers name and she had the same voice as my mom plus whenever I ignored her and didn't follow her direction she nagged me until I got back on track. She also attempted to make me drive directly into a lake on a trip back from Maine once. I think she was mad at me again.

What did you think? I was not impressed with either of the two new shows. I prefer Happily Ever After and Illuminations to them. I thought the singing in the original music of Enchantment was terrible. I couldn't even understand all the words. Seemed really screechy/ whiney. I especially didn't like Harmonious. It doesn't even come close to the class of Illuminations. Disappointed.

The same for me. No “feels” from either.
Disappointed, as well.

I can't believed they ruined all my favorite views for Disharmonious!!!!!!!!!!! I would have been only a bit mad if it had all the tech of this show with all the feels of Illuminations and then some. I wonder what the penalty for removing all the junk would be. Asking for everybody
We were watching it and then the lights came on from the countries across the lake and you couldn’t even really see them!! Whoever created this show should be ashamed. Doesn’t belong in EPCOT. Has nothing to do with it. The monstrosities in the lake are disturbing and take away from the beauty there once was. Hopefully they wake up and tear down this show sooner than later. Belongs in maybe a cartoon IP land, but sure as heck not in Epcot.

Our first date was at a restaurant with a special of two lobsters, per customer, for a very reasonable price. I ate one, and he ate three. 🤦‍♀️
My parents had a unique first date. Their first date was at a wedding. It ended up as a date that started when dad surprised mom by cutting mom piece of cake. Both of my parents know the bride and groom. They met before, but there was no dates before the wedding.

Recorded the show on my DVR last night, and watched it in its entirety today.

I think anyone who enjoys the history of Disney would love this show. It was one of the very best Disney shows I've seen.

(If you get a chance to see it on any recording, if you scroll to around the 7 minute mark, the history and archival footage begins about there. The anecdotes from previous Disney cast members, imagineers, executives, etc., really added some very interesting content.)

Excellent show.
I did as well, and we both enjoyed it. Part nostalgia, part commercial, part behind the scenes tidbits - and for the record, I’m generally fond of Whoopi. She’s not looking so healthy, though.

I think my favorite Disney show like this was the PBS American Experience show.
First date and movie for us was Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back of course😊
First movie was Finding Nemo on DVD. He was house sitting for a relative and they had it. He had seen it before and liked it, I hadn’t seen it yet. Thus began the “oh, you like Disney?” conversation.

First movie in a theater I can’t remember.

First date was Mother’s Day (we had met the Thursday before.) It was at a diner after I got out of work (low commitment!) But he showed up early at the gay bar where I was pouring drinks - in “old lady drag.” (Hey, holiday costumes are good for tips!)

I would learn the significance of the date because his Mom had passed away a few years prior and he was pretty broken up about it ever since. He felt it was a sign, like she had something to do with bringing us together, and that allowed him to be happy again.
Hated the Yankees.
Wrong answer.

Just arrived to the Orlando!

All is good!

We got some surprises but the crew of United despite the plane being packed, shuffled around seats for family..etc.. and we got better views and windows..

I'm now at the Rosen Inn near Disney Springs.

last day at Houston went well.

Calibration went well , went with my aunt to see her, we talked all we could, had a very good burger.
Then my cousin drove us to the airport.
Only bad thing is, I lost my glasses lol.
Im going to have to buy ones near Disney.

Well that sounds a lot better!!

(Yet, how in heck did you lose your eyeglasses? :( ) Do you only wear them for reading, for example, and not full-time? If you don't wear them all the time, I could see how you might put them down someplace, and then forget to take them with you. I find that travelling is distracting from our usual routines, and it's not uncommon for people to forget or lose things, when they're away on a trip.

Hope you can get a nice pair of eyeglasses fairly quickly, that aren't too expensive.

Glad you guys also enjoyed the show! As for the emcee, Whoopi, I don't have any general opinion about her one way or another; yet, I thought her brief introductory segments were fine for the program. (Although her outfit was o.k., I thought the wardrobe designers could have created something a bit more stylish for the occasion. 🤷‍♀️ )
