Awww....I'm so sorry for your loss! What kind of dog was he? He has the same kind of coloring and such as my dog when I was growing up. Pi looks like a sweetie!

Thanks.
He was a rescue mutt.
I managed to find another pic of him from shortly after they adopted him back in ‘14. He looked like Albert Einstein, but, they Already had Pumpkin, so they thought Pi would be a fun play on words, and they didn’t want to name him Archimedes…!!!!! :D Either way, all science/math-related…!!!!! :hilarious:
Speakin’ of which, his bow tie is about 90 degrees askew ;), but, an awesomely cool pup…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

Can't believe it's Labor Day already! Though I know school just started for a lot of kids recently as an adult I feel the year is pretty much winding down.

Labor Day for me growing up was the the Portuguese Holy Ghost festival and a big family party (I'm talking like a hundred or so plus random people from the street). The parades have scared me for life (I haven't been since they stopped the reunion) but the family reunion was good. The festival people had a little area with drive and away rides but I never went to that. There's an Italian one near my house for St. Joseph's Day but apparently that's worse with too many people in one area and some food and a procession.

There's nothing quite like watching drunk people walking down the street. It's a requirement of St. Patrick's day so I give them a pass which since Providence didn't have their parade in March, they're having in in two weeks. Go figure.

When I was growing up, Labor Day was the last day before summer vacation ended through 7th grade for the school system in Wisconsin I was in. It was decided the School year by the Teachers when I in the 7th grade that school starts the week before Labor Day. School starting one week before Labor happened for a while.

I think it was in the late 2010s that it was changed to mid August many years. My younger brother and I were graduated from that school system many years before it was changed to mid August.

Labor Day can be a good day at WDW. I've been there before on Labor Day. It's not bad for crowds that later part in the day. I am not at WDW this year though.

Similar situation here in Chicago... Classes used to start after Labor day weekend until very recently. I grew up down south where we'd already be in class for damn near 2+ weeks before getting labor day off.

Funny enough I think I remember my mom telling me that we didn't get either memorial or veterans day off from school until the mid-90s because it was deemed a Yankee holiday!

Sad for the FIL getting lost, but it is good that he was in good spirits about it. Was the buffet part self serve? Just wondering if there were any covid type protocols.
They had hand sanitizer at the entrance to each station and asked people to use it before entering that station, and you weren't allowed to get food from multiple stations at one time. You had to get everything from one station, take it back to your table, and then you could go to another station. All the used dishes and untensils had to be brought to a drop off point so that those busing the tables didn't have to actually go to the tables where people were sitting. I felt really bad for this one couple though...they were seated at a two-top right by the drop off point, with nothing but plexiglass between them. So they were sitting with a view of everyone else's dirty dishes and trash for their entire meal. I think I would have requested to be moved because that is NOT an appetizing sight. I get the protocol of having a central drop off location, but then don't seat anyone right there. That's just disgusting. And everyone had to walk right past them to get into and out of the seating area. They really shouldn't have had anyone sitting at that table.

School starts in Central FL in early August and ends late May and one holiday the kids get off in February in Kissimmee is Feb 18 Rodeo Day . Everyone who wants to can go to the Silver Spurs Arena about 20 min from WDW to see the rodeo.
