My parents bought the home they have had since 1971 that they still live in for 23,000.

My parents bought their last house in 1964. They paid $12,000.00 for it. When they had both passed, I sold my half to my sister for $120,000.00. Not a bad investment really, but, the ones that actually paid for it, never benefited from the increased value.

I'm about 20 years younger than you, and I remember running shoes being 50 cents at "Dirty Dan's".
They were pretty much "disposable", but my three brothers used to blow through a pair every month; whether they were the cheap or the expensive kind.

I am so tired. So sore. And so many pages behind.
On the plus side, I only euchred one finger nail. It hurt though.

Back at it tomorrow. Bro #1 says he's not likely to even get up tomorrow at all. Too bad, we had an awesome time sitting on the floor assembling some of the new furniture.

He reminded of the very first piece we put together for my first apartment when I moved out - a faux marble look cocktail table. I was surprised and so very touched that he remembered that. I had totally forgotten.

I really hope that his health is done declining for a while. I couldn't bear the thought of losing him any time soon. He's almost like my twin. And the only one of my brothers who doesn't drive me batty. I love them all but #2 and #3 make me koo koo for cocoa puffs.

Congrats to him! And prayers to him, as well.

ROFLMAO he's my older one's hero. The first question he asked when the calendar came out to start planning" which all you can eat are we going to?"!!!!!! BTW he wars a 30 waist pair of jeans....

Same here. I ate like a flippin' horse and never went past a 32 waist until my early-mid 20's.

OMG! I burst out laughing with your comments and the picture to go with it! Remember, I had two brothers growing up, and I'd say that "meal" in the picture might have been a "snack" for them! I can't even imagine how much money my parents spent on groceries for those two boys! (And to make things worse, they were both slim. I hate that! My sister and I could gain weight if we had too many treats, or just too much food in general, but not the boys!! )

So I'm seriously contemplating buying the pay per view for the Mayweather/Pacquaio fight. I'm not much of a boxing fan but it's supposed to be historic and I'm a sucker for historic.

My boss asked me who I wanted to win....and I'm like I know what they do, I just don't care.

boxing is still not my thing. Never seen a match anyway or don't care to.
