I didn’t need to wear a seatbelt as a kid either. I do remember when it became a law in NY. I was probably 10 or a tad older and just was annoyed that I now needed to wear a seat belt. Today I won’t drive anywhere without one and my kids always have theirs on. Still have my youngest in a booster even. She is 58 pounds and I am a tad over protective.
When I was a kid, seat belts didn't exist at all. My parents had an alternative, every new car they bought they immediately had the seats custom covered with clear plastic. In the summer, when it was hot (no AC back then either) you didn't have to worry about it because your bare legs were always firmly stuck to the plastic.

Oh god how I remember those clear plastic seat covers my dad put on the seats --- in winter they were cold and stiff and summer as you said your legs stuck to them. I remember a tan 1957 dodge looked like this thing was huge iu-2.jpeg

Monorail is 365 guests per monorail
Skyliner is 4500 guests per hour
So it depends on how many monorails run on what sort of schedule. It may seem lees crowded because the monorail stations bunch people up whilst the skyliner is continuous loading
Totally would use the gondola before monorail. No other party in gondola. Too close person contact in monorail for me. And they do keep moving fast if they aren't shut down. We love the gondolas.

No
Perhaps, but in another sense, the monorails (for example) hold many people in multiple cars. The gondolas load one party only at a time. What else you got? :p

The monorails right now aren't at capacity. They're also taking longer to load because someone has to be there to be sure that social distancing is happening. Seriously, I'm at MK on Monday and then I have to head back to Poly to take the Tragical Express; I doubt I'm taking the monorail based on how dang slow it currently is. I almost said take the bus or boat the other night except B was with me and I knew he wanted to ride the monorail.

Love the wings! When I was a kid, a neighbor of ours kept (in mint condition) an old Cadillac with wings. That car looked like it could take flight! :D

@MySmallWorldof4 , how is your (overseas) student doing with her lessons? I was reading about the school year coming to an end, for various localities around our country. So, will there also be a summer break for your student, or do the kids in her country not get a summer break, like the kids do here?
They go to school through the end of June. They still do lessons though in the summer, it is just slower. I am ok with that. I am getting a tad burnt out between doing that and then teaching my own kids and then taking care of everything around the house. Thinking I am going to take a break once June hits.

Absolutely! You've had quite a bit on your plate for months. I think you need a nice break!!

(Interesting about the student -- at least their studies over there slow down for the summer, even if not a full vacation for them.)

They are really strict with their schooling there. They start at 8 and finish at 4. The older grades finish at 5 and then many of them do these English tutoring classes a few times a week on top of their homework. I have definitely appreciated what I have learned from their culture. I have heard some things come out of some kids mouths that makes me cringe but then it is cultural and I just let it go.

It's too bad Disney created it's urban sprawl problem in the 90s then monorails could go everywhere.
