I've never been but when I was kid I remember animals climbing on the hood and top of the roof of our Dodge Dart Swinger at Jungle Habitat in NJ in the early 1970s at the drive thru safari.
Sounds familiar. I know we went somewhere for a drive through safari when I was a little kid in the 70's. I always thought it was Great Adventure, but it could have been there. I just remember being scared.

:hilarious: Just saw Steve's post.

I was checking out other things to do in the Orlando area since we aren’t really hitting a theme park. Anyone ever been to the Central Florida Zoo?
There are all kinds of things to do outside of going to the parks. There is, of course, Disney Springs. Offsite there is Gatorland, There is an airplane Museum in Kissimmee, along 192 are a plithery of mini golf and gift shops as well. There used to be a huge flea market just to the east of WDW and next door helicopter tours as well. International Drive has all kinds of novelty things. Most have fees but compared to WDW they are practically paying you to go there. Just to the west few miles away is Bok Tower. I loved it and all it was is a simple nature park with a very fancy bell tower that has scheduled concerts during the day. I just found it to be another world. It was quiet, and restful. I even fell asleep while sitting on a bench under a live oak and Spanish moss. Going south on 27 there is a candy shop that specializes in Florida citrus related candy, but also chocolate. A little further south is a huge orange processing plant. I think it has tours as well, but all I needed was to drive past it and smell the orange blossoms and processing.

If you are thinking about another park besides Disney there is Universal, Sea World, and Legoland. (once was Cyprus Gardens) And the biggest real thing is just 60 miles to the east called the Kennedy Space Center. That is a must see as far as I am concerned. Just standing in the building under the Saturn V Rocket like the one that took men to the moon is something to experience. You have to see it up close to get the real feeling of just how big that thing is. The cost is comparatively small compared to other places, but fascinating. I'm sure there are other things like 60 miles west in Tampa is the Sunshine Bridge plus your usual tourist traps.

Thank you for your suggestions. I forgot about Bok Tower. I will have to see if they are open. Had considered NASA, but not sure I want to take the drive. I will go on Google Earth and check our route 27. I think if I go to Legoland my son will have a fit. :hilarious:

I understand about the driving, but I have never found the trip over to Cape Canaveral terribly stressful. Just take the Beach Line (used to be the Bee Line) which was far more clever a name. Traffic isn't bad once you get out of Kissimmee/Orlando and past the Airport. It's a toll road, there are other ways to get there, when I get a chance I'll see if I can find an alternative route.

I love all the side attractions way from WDW, too! So many fun places to visit down in that area.

If you can't tell the difference between Robert DeNiro (left) and Danny Devito (right) you really aren't paying any attention at all. That said, however, I wouldn't know the difference when it comes to the listed women.

It's not that I can't tell the difference. Obviously they look nothing alike. I just don't know which name belongs with which actor. So like, the movie Matilda, for example....I know it's the short bald guy with an Italian name....but which one of the Italian names is the short bald guy?

A Raccoon would starve without a dumpster.
@King Raccoon 77 doesn't have to worry in Door County. The Bayside Tavern is less than 4 miles from a state park that has 3,776 acres. That park has different animals including Racoons and @King Raccoon 77 would be right at home;).

That park does have camping also and I'm sure the raccoons want to steal the campers food and garbage.

Oh, look, I’m up at 4, been up since 3. Seems to be a pattern lately.

Got the new lease to expand the store the other day, haven’t signed yet.

He tacked something onto the end saying “if” they do construction on the building, I’m responsible to pay a percentage of the actual cost via rent increases in perpetuity.

We know they are definitely making improvements to the building to the tune of at least $5 million.

He’s nuts. Forwarded it today to Brian’s cousin, the attorney. Hopefully he can help.
Out of curiosity, is the town helping cover the improvements? I'm thinking TIF, rebate program, facade program, anything like that? Cause if they are recovering cost from the updates AND charging you for that as well... nice profit for them.

Don’t know. Emailed owner a few hours ago to set up a time to talk rather than email. The whole thing has me on edge.

Call townhall, and ask to speak to someone in economic development. They should be able to tell you if it is a property in some sort of TIF, rebate, anything that would help cover construction, updates, facade.

We went to Bok Tower in March of 2020 and had a nice time. I believe they are open again but you might have to make reservations in advance.
