He says "Thanks!"Happy Birthday Mr. @Songbird76 View attachment 547833
2nd is still awesome! Well done! You can't win them all, and some days it just doesn't happen. It's hard, but at least they can learn from the experience. It's just like a test...it's one moment on one day...it doesn't give an accurate picture of what they can do overall. You have to look at the patterns over the long term.I was at a cheer competition all weekend in Richmond. Two days of competing for my kid. 4 performances for my kid. They were in first after day one on one team. Sadly mistakes on day two cost them first. Ended up in second of 6 teams. Her other team had a lousy day one and could not make up for the deductions of day one even with a near perfect performance on day two. They ended 4th out of 5. Rough weekend. Don’t know if it is harder on the kids or the adults. I never mind the driving, but those butterflies really act up before she goes on the floor.
Yep! We have some in the fridge, actually! Thanks!@Songbird76 , here is a little treat for your husband's birthday. I read that people who live in the Netherlands love these! Enjoy -- there's enough for the family.
Poffertjes
A traditional Dutch batter treat is ‘poffertjes’. They look like baby pancakes but much fluffier. They are made with yeast and buckwheat flour and typically served with a lump of butter and powdered sugar. Fresh ‘poffertjes’ are often made at an outdoor stand during winter. They are served on a small cardboard plate and come with a small fork. While butter and powdered sugar are the most common toppings; whipped cream, syrup and strawberries are also pretty common.
Unfortunately the ad world is moving to animations and video for nearly all of their inventory. Nobody wants to do static images anymore.

Yes. It is hard on the parents and kids when you see a mistake. I am one to nit pick and try and figure out what happened. Luckily one of my friends is a coach and she always sets me straight. I just make sure to be positive with my kid when she comes off the floor. She was upset on Sunday after her first team had two falls. (Her stunt group being one). Told her she had to be 100% there for her next team and she needed to get herself together. I was so proud of her that she did and the second teams routine was perfect.2nd is still awesome! Sounds like they were being too strict about the groups and it all got muddled up in bureaucracy.Well, we got some clarification about why our vaccination program is so slow. There was an article in today's paper that said that we are far behind what we should be. https://www.gelderlander.nl/binnenl...ser_push&utm_medium=push&utm_campaign=stdc_dg I know you guys can't read it, but basically, it said that the Netherlands had enough to vaccinate 4.6 million people, but we have only reached 3.2 million. It said that they can't use the vaccines as soon as they come in because they first have to be unloaded and distributed to the various centers. I mentioned that we get a letter with an appointment. Apparently they aren't doing that with this one. You DO get a letter, but the letter just tells you to call to make an appointment, and the problem with that is that everyone who gets the letter goes to call in and the lines are all tied up so no one can get through.
Then, even though the research shows that the AZ vaccine is safe and the risk group is very small, the health organization stopped the AZ for people under 60. So now even 60+ are worried about it. Because if it's not safe for a 59 year old, how can it be safe for a 60 year old? So now they aren't wanting to get the AZ one, so people aren't showing up for appointments. And I guess they distributed the vaccines in a certain way....doctors offices got the AZ one, while the pfizer and moderna went to the huge vaccination points, but now those huge vaccination points don't have the stock? They said they could do 1million vaccines this week....IF they had the vaccines. While doctors offices can't get rid of them...no one wants the AZ ones. And the workers at the big halls have tons of capacity...they are sitting there with nothing to do.
The minister in charge of corona protocol said the one guy should never have said that AZ was safe and there were no worries, because nothing is 100% safe....you can get hit by a car walking to the grocery store. But if you look at the risks of corona and weigh that against the risk of the side effects of AZ, it's very limited. So now they have this really complicated schedule set up with risk groups and the more risk groups you give priority, the more complicated it becomes to set up a schedule. When people aren't showing up for their vaccinations, and doctors have floods of the vaccine just sitting there, if they would open that up and say anyone who WANTS to get the AZ can get it now, instead of having to wait for all the people who DON'T want to get it, but they have priority, we could go a lot faster. So I guess they are coming up with a new schedule this week to speed things up.
There was also some doctor on one of those discussion news programs and he said he's seeing only 30% of the people in the risk groups coming in for their vaccines, because people in lower socio-economic groups who generally have a lower level of education are misled by the fact that they stopped the AZ vaccine. They are convinced that it's not safe. Where people in the higher socio-economic groups who generally have more education are able to do more research and make sense of the information.
But last week, they planned to do 625,000 vaccines, and only 365,000 ended up actually getting the vaccine. That's not a good percentage. Meanwhile, there are a bunch of us in high risk groups who really want to get it, but it's not our turn yet, so we can't make an appointment, even though they had plenty of spots open. It's just not efficient at the moment. They mentioned other countries that are doing a much better job with it. I think the article said Israel? Where people get a push notification on their phone that they can just accept an appointment with one click. No waiting on hold with a call center to make an appointment. And in the UK, they scrapped some of the risk groups because it got too complicated, and they are being more opportunistic. If someone comes in for their vaccine with a partner or carer, if there's a vaccine extra, they go ahead and vaccinate the extra person, too....so they are going WAY faster than we are, because we're still stuck in "only these specific people can get it now," and a large number is not showing up anyway, and those extras could be given to other people if they weren't so strict about the risk groups. It's total chaos.
He's very welcomeHe says "Thanks!"
Mom got that one. No side effects thank goodness.FYI. FDA and CDC have ordered a halt to the J&J vaccine due to recipients developing a rare disorder involving blood clots. @Songbird76
