My younger brother and I started allergy shots when we were kids. I can tell you Allergy shots does not fix everything from my own experience. Allergy shots prevent me from getting asthma attacks, but not does not prevent stuff like a runny nose and watery eyes in all cases.

Back in September of 2017 as an adult, the Orlando airport was dog central. The airport was dog central on September 7th. I am not referring to security dogs, but people's pets. I know people were leaving their Florida trip early on September 7th because of Hurricane Irma. People were leaving Florida early. What happened to me was I had sneezing and Watery eyes at the Airport. I did not suffer an asthma attack because of the allergy shots. That was not the first time my dog allergies acted up despite the allergy shots.
Sorry to hear that. I had allergy shots too and they substantially improved my allergies. I never had much of a cat/dog allergy, but now I don't have any. They also helped with other allergies like mold, pollen, etc. I'm not completely miserable this time of year like other people are.

Although in my post to that other member, I was half-joking.

This commercial bothers me....
*

*
It says that Consumer Cellular is "for all of us who weren't born yesterday."
........meaning old people:rolleyes:....
then it displays when the character actors appearing in the commercial were born.
1968 and1970. Ooo! Ancient, huh? 🤭
People born in those sample years are NOT old people who can't use an iphone or appreciate T-Mobile or Verizon.
Gee! I was born before 1968 and I just feel weird (or annoyed) when watching this commercial.
Am I making any sense? o_O:D

Oh I make fun of that commercial too. I'm like, if you were literally born yesterday, you wouldn't need a cellphone...🤣

I'm finally caving and getting B Hersheypark's DAS equivalent. He nearly had a meltdown over Candymonium last week. Nope, nope, nopedy nope. Not dealing with that. I told him we can use it if the line is more than 20 minutes.
Update: He's soooo much calmer today. It took forever in line at Guest Services to get the pass, but we took much longer for lunch and we took an extra snack break, and we're already riding Candymonium twice so it's out of his system. Should have done this ages ago.

We've gotten it but never had to use it, thank goodness. The only time we ever had a problem was when James was told he couldn't ride Great Bear when he was 3:rolleyes:

Two TCM winners today, @donaldtoo !

I've been recording some of their "Oscar winners from A to Z" playing until the Oscars air towards the end of this month. Some are a chore or I only watch the beginning.

Just now I caught "Fury" starring Spencer Tracey as a man falsely accused of kidnapping, and a mob breaks into the jail to get him. Very relevant and compelling, although as with many of these movies, the ending seems a bit like a footnote. You're often left with questions.

The other was called "The Green Years." The only reason I took a chance on it was Dean Stockwell (from Quantum Leap) was in it as a child. Completely different in tone from the other film, an Irish kid is orphaned and sent to live with family in Scotland. Some are good to him, some less so. A nice surprise was about halfway through, when they showed him grow up to high school age, he was played by the guy who played Judy Garland's boyfriend in "Meet Me In St. Louis." Within the first few minutes of the movie, I felt the kid's pain and fear, and took that journey with him. And again, the ending left me with a question, but I was able to find the answer with the Google machine.

Interestingly, the Wikipedia article for that film says it was only ever shown on TCM twice! Once many years ago, and once this month. I didn't even see it available on demand.

We took a little trip today to Burnet (pronounced “burn-it”), Texas. It’s a small town about an hour northwest of us. They have the annual Burnet Bluebonnet Festival (cancelled last year - 38th annual this year) that MIL wanted to attend. So, MIL, BIL, niece, and future SIL, drove all the way up from Houston to meet us in Burnet.
The weather was absolutely beautiful, and MIL said she felt like she was alive again after being able to travel again (other than doctors appointments).
DS had to work, Sarah had another engagement, and Emmy, Megan, and Daniel did also.
It was a great time, for sure...there was a band made up of Fort Hood soldiers that played classics, there were hundreds of booths, lots of good food, the 1937 Art Deco courthouse, the bluebonnet sculpture, the winery, etc.
Afterwards, we drove back to Austin for more bbq at Southside Market & Barbeque across the street from Sarah’s place, and then we all met Emmy, Megan, and Daniel at a green space at Sarah’s place...a VERY GOOD day...!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::inlove::happy:

Thanks for the tag, Tony...!!! :)
Have known of “Fury”, but have, unfortunately, never seen it. Will make a point to do so now.
Have never even heard of “The Green Years”, but, am very aware of Dean Stockwell starting out as a child actor. That sounds like it would be a pretty good one. Hope it’s easier to find, at some point soon...!!! :)

Been quite a few since I posted last...

anyway...

Been forcing myself to watch "His Dark Materials" again... And seriously, only the secondary characters and the general plot are what makes this thing interesting for me.
They keep filming Lyra as an useless person over and over where she keeps making the most idiotic decisions consistently. And I'm pretty sure that the screenplay writer is to blame because many actions in a book are hard to translate visually for series of movies.

It's like, almost every single character makes decisions that makes sense in what the information they have or what they have been forced to select on very limited options.
Lyra? nope.. she's like a walking trope about horror movies.. "Go left for salvation, go right to go to the bomb and knives factory".
And Lyra in the series consistently select right and everyone around her gets hurt or dies.

Thats my rant for today!
