Wow, I was the same way with the pills, didn't figure out how to swallow them until I was married and had a kid. I still can't swallow huge pills, like antibiotics, I have to cut them in half. I still take chewable Flintstone vitamins, but it's not weird yet because my youngest kid is 9 🤣
My youngest is 45 now, so that would be weird, I think!

That’s what I suspected.
In this day and age, I’m sure they make a lot more profit by ditchin’ the brick and mortar, and focusin’ more online.
Sad though, as I can remember more than one little kiddo runnin’ into to the Store, when I was a CM there, and shoutin’ “Disney World...!!!!!!! :joyfull:“. :(

Makes me feel sad for little kids growing up now. It's not just the Disney store, but so many brick & mortar stores have closed. Browsing through stores, and shopping on site (where you have in-person interaction with a store employee) may happen even more infrequently, moving forward.

More often now, people use their computer or smartphone, click on an item, enter payment info., and select Send. It's very impersonal; and with social skills tanking as it is, having less in-person contact is concerning for many.

I will say that there's definitely room for both brick & mortar, and online shopping -- I just don't want to see online methods completely dominate the shopping experience.

That depends. When I traveled to Central and South America and returning back to Miami for my connecting flight some flights are targeted with more emphasis because one reason is that the flights are coming from countries that have been known to smuggle drugs through the person and or luggage. Also there is always going to be someone trying to bring raw fruit from their country into the USA. If one tries to ship from a well known country on the DEA list, the package probably will get opened when it comes to the USA.
Yes, but in my case, it would be coming FROM the US. My friend from Mexico went to the US and when she came backto the Netherlands, they confiscated all the beef jerky she had bought, and they opened up all the packages of jello mix and dumped them out to check for drugs. Everything was ruined.

I'm sure they will survive OK. I hate shopping so the loss of brick and mortar is of no consequence to me. I have only been in two Disney Stores in my life. The first was in a mall just outside of Boston. I don't remember the name of the town or the name of the mall but I think it was just to the south of Boston (Quincy maybe) not sure. And we have a nice one here in Raleigh. It is located in one of the only malls in the area that seem to be surviving while others have crashed and burned.

The mall in the town of Cary that I used to frequent for my daily walks has gone from a vibrant crowded mall to being shuttered up a couple of months ago. It was a very nice mall, but when it lost Macy's, Sears and JC Penneys in the same year, it just faded away. All it had left of any size was Belk's and Dave and Busters. About 5 years ago they started putting in a large play area to add to its Carousel and train ride which brought in the little ankle biters by the thousands it seemed. There were younguns screaming (literally) in delight. I think that was the final nail in the coffin. Older folks, myself included, were annoyed by the incessant screams and the kids didn't bring any money with them. The fun areas required adult supervision so all they did was bring in the kids, talk among themselves while the kids went crazy in the play area. No purchases were made and adults stopped going there. At least that is my theory.

I very seldom bought anything except a beverage or lunch in the food court, but I did buy the car before my current one because they had it displayed inside the mall. So I sort of did my lifetime shopping quota in one purchase.

At the moment, online is about all we have because of Corona. Stores were locked down for so long, and right now they are open by appointment only, with a time limit and max of 1 person per 25 square meters. So most everything is online. I work for an online store and our sales went up a lot when Corona hit. It's the only way people have to buy clothes for their kids.

My son and daughter in law went to Italy and they bought a bunch of Italian meat to bring home salami, etc got back to the States it was a confiscated at customs. He was not a happy camper.
See, I knew you couldn't bring fresh stuff, but I figured pre-packaged stuff should be fine, but they took all of her food and opened it to check for drugs and then it's ruined. I thought jerky would be ok, because it's been processed and is in a sealed container that doesn't require refrigeration. I guess I was wrong.

E got a message in her group whatsapp for school that one of the kids in her "cluster" has corona. He got his results yesterday, so we haven't heard yet from the school what that means. She wasn't really sure who it was....their cluster is the two 3rd year classes of dual immersion program kids, so about 35 kids total, and they do have some classes together, but this is the first year that they've had classes together with the other TTO class. So there are a few kids who she doesn't know and he's one of them...like....she knows he's in her class, but didn't know what his name was. But she said that in the breaks, they all sit close together and don't distance, and they have one assigned partner to sit next to in every class, but some people ignore that and switch it up. So that's going to make it harder to tell who should quarantine and who shouldn't. And since he got the test result on Saturday, that means he was at school all week while he had corona. So there are probably kids in their class who caught it from him. Now I don't know if I should have E tested or not. She doesn't remember if she was sitting near him or not, but knows that the whole group is together for break. But people here can't get tested if they don't have symptoms anyway, so I guess it's moot...she wouldn't be able to get one unless she develops symptoms.

I’ve had a prescription for Xanax (0.5 mg. tabs) for well over 2 decades now.
At the beginning, I was occasionally takin’ ‘em for a sleep aid, as well, but, I haven’t done that in a very long time. I take them pretty sparingly, and only if I’m really stressed out. I can’t remember the last time I took one on a weekend, as I’m off work on weekends. I can usually make a 15-day supply (30 tabs) last more than 4 months, but, they sure are “magic” when ya’ need ‘em...!!! ;)
Mine are .25 and I can usually break them in half! I did not like the ambien type stuff, but a little xanax does help shut the brain off long enough to fall asleep. I probably do that a few times a week on average. No unwanted side effects the next morning.

There are times when I’ll need to take the whole thing.
Which vaccine did y’all get...?
Carolyn and I both got Moderna.
Moderna two weeks ago, so theoretically I’m 90% immune as of tomorrow. Next shot is 4/5.

Yep, I take half a tab sometimes, but, I’m a pretty big dude (wide, not tall :hilarious:), so one 0.5 mg. tab tends to work more to my liking...!!! ;):)

Carolyn and I had our first doses on March 2nd, and they told us to come back 28-42 days later, so soon-ish...!!! :)

Yep, I remember shoppin’ bein’ a big deal when I was a kiddo. Whether it was buyin’ new clothes for school, or goin’ to our huge new mall to spend a whole Sunday afternoon, there, or even the grocery store, it always seemed like a bit of an adventure....!!! :)
There’s definitely a place for both, but, interaction with Guests (although many could be a PITA ;)) is one thing I definitely miss about workin’ retail. Most folks were nice, and it was a pleasure to serve them and have good interactions with them...!!!!!
