Boss idiocy of today:

Boss: "Cesar, Give me the number of form submissions"

I give him values..

Boss: "Let me rephrase, Give me the number of VALID form submissions".

Me: "Let me filter the content, there are a lot of invalid submissions, mostly form tests skewing the numbers "

My Boss: "I do not care about statistics of the form submission, I reiterate what I asked to give me a number of valid form submissions".

Me: :|
I think win in the stupid category for this week.

One of our vendors sent out confidential info to us by mistake, which then got forwarded to me. I got a call yesterday telling me about it and asking me to delete it, which I did, completely (which of course I know how to do). Then I got a call from a director in another department (who's in the chain of command in the guy that sent it to me). Apparently they took it all the way to the CEO to make sure we deleted it. I told him that yes, Joe called me right away and I deleted it.

Then today I got an IM from a VP in my department asking about it. She wanted to know when we originally got it. I told her that I thought it was yesterday, but I wasn't sure because I had deleted it. (I wanted to say "as I was instructed" but didn't). We shall see how long this continues; I'm probably going to have to bring in my boss.

I thought you could do it day of from the app as long as parks had availability?
You can book a park reservation the day of if there's availability. You can't go up to the ticket window and buy a one day ticket on the same day. The ticket windows are strictly for exchanging your online ticket purchase for a card if you don't have a KTTW card or MB.

Sounds fun. Just FYI, PO has yet to re-open, with no date in sight. Maybe ride through the air, or do a monorail crawl.
Poly's monorail station is also closed right now. I think it's reopening in August maybe? The gondola crawl is the way to go right now because you can stop at Caribbean Beach, Riviera, and the Epcot resorts.

I think you're on the money, because on this same day (earlier).

Background:
Boss had the "great idea" of changing the form that receives contacts from the website. The form is standard and asks for email, name, company, phone, and message.
Now the new first form only asks for the email, then sends the user to a new page where it asks for the rest of information.
The boss claimed that this was to "improve lead generation".
AS EXPECTED BY ME: (not by my boss obviously) Very few people actually filled the second form and we got only emails with no explanation whatsoever in the large majority of the cases. Below 25% filled the second form.

Now, we have an automated workflow that makes deals (per orders of the boss as well) of EVERY MESSAGE that comes from these forms.

This is what happened a few weeks ago.

Boss complains that we're creating deals out of contacts asking support.
Me: Boss, you wanted to create a deal for every form filled and sent to us.
Boss: Change that, I do not want to get your support messages in MY deals.
Me: Fine, I've now set a filter to avoid that.

Now this week

Boss : Complains about how we're generating deals with no information or name or anything.
Me: Explain to boss that HIS new form is causing the issue. Almost everyone fills the FIRST FORM (only the email) and most refuse or forget to fill the second form.
Me: I've set a filter that prevents the forms that are missing name and message from generating a deal.

Later this week:

Boss: Why are we not getting deals? I've seen people fill the form!
Me: They only filled the first form, therefore we do not have their name, their contact or what they want. We only have their emails.
Boss: I did not want any filter to be installed! They contacted us, so we must follow up!
Me groaning and then deleting the filter.
Now AGAIN we're getting deals with no name, information, message. Only the email as before (note that he HAD complained this before as mentioned above). Also we have a ton of invalid submissions because of no contact information on the second form. Which means that data is not being passed on correctly.

Note I'm paraphrasing, because the boss loves to say demeaning words like "I expected you do to better", "Why are you wasting my time". "reformulate your questions and ask again". Mostly when he's in his "days" and he's "busy".
Also...many contradicting signals from one day to another(he wants info one day, the next just wants the job done with no information). To wanting stupidly bureaucratic moves, wanting perfect english when he makes hilariously writing mistakes, and so on...

ON the good side:
At least he accepted his idea of split forms is a mistake. I wonder how long until he merges both forms and we do not have the issue anymore.

So why haven’t you done it (the right way) already? ;)

What are the odds you'll have your new truck Monday?
Hard to say as of right now.

It’s apparently loaded on the hauler and ready to go. It’s coming from Texas and I thought the power outages would be the last little delay but it wasn’t.

I’ll know more on Monday but possibly this weekend.

As it stands I’m looking at 4 months from signing off on it to delivery.

Not so coincidentally we are getting credit offers out our ears; we made eight car payments in a month and a half to get Mrs Willmark’s CX5 paid off early, that was painful (over the holidays no less) but worth it. Maybe I should accept the offer for that Black Card ;) “I say, pass the grey poupon there my good chap.” This is funny because as you well know I’m the farthest thing from that mentality.

Ironically, my sister is passing a similar issue. She was promised today she would get her car..and delays and delays.. now turns out they do not even have the color she wanted. And they will have to get it from an agency on another town a few hours away XD

My parents are looking at a new car...the dealership said they're making crazy sales. Their inventory is really low. Probably because people can't travel, they're buying stuff instead.

Funny thing, the last time they bought a car, they qualified for a promo. They don't qualify for that promo anymore because there's a non-GM vehicle registered at our address. :cyclops:

Tell them to buy a Honda;)
