That would be a neutral way of welcoming you to the world of old age. 👩‍🦳 But, that cannot be true because it has been said by (aka) Ferret that he is in his youth and you are younger. The math doesn't work.
I sprained both my ankles this year once in late summer and that one was rather severe as in just about 2 months in a boot bad and the other one just when I was mostly mobile. You sometimes forget this is the we need to be in bubble wrap thread. At least I didn't do anything requiring surgery just by reaching in my purse @StarWarsGirl is the 3rd youngest here

It ranged, at various vendors from $26 per day to $56. per day. That later was for a Mercedes and the smallest was a Compact car. So if you are going to stay just onsite, with no outside ventures you will have to get from MCO to there one way or the other and it won't be for free and will be on an individual in party rate. Anytime you want to go anywhere offsite it will cost you at least that for a daily trip. You will also be paying premium rates for everything you buy onsite. It seems to me that if someone is willing to pay $200 to $400 per night to stay onsite another $100 per day for a vehicle shouldn't be a problem.
You have to add another $100 per week of taxes and fees.

This is what I found for the equivalent of Saturday-Sunday. For the equivalent of a Honda Civic, which won't work for a family my size.

You're still better off cost wise doing a van at $84 each way (many of them also offer complimentary stops at a grocery store on the way if you tell them in advance, though last time I still ended up buying drinks in the park because I could only carry about 3 for myself and that wasn't enough).

If you aren't planning on doing anything else, not having a car available is up to you. The numbers even the big ones still amount to one night sleeping on a "who know who slept there before" bed. Car rentals allow so much more freedom of movement which is important to me. Besides you listed the car rentals that are the big boys, there are many smaller organizations that are dependable and much less expensive. You always pay more for a recognizable name.

I probably shouldn't have gotten involved in this discussion seeing as I won't stay onsite at gunpoint. If I want to throw money away, I will just roll it up in a wad and throw it in the trash. I think onsite is a ripoff, but that is my opinion and I am aware that many feel just the opposite. That is their choice. I know how much money I have saved over the years by staying offsite, eating offsite and exploring offsite. Onsite I was a prisoner and forced to pay whatever they wanted. I love the parks and have never complained about the ticket price because I know of no other venue where you get that many hours of entertainment and fun for one very reasonable price. But that much money for the use of a bed which is primarily the only use I have for that room, is beyond my comprehension. But it is nice to still have options and with every new "charge" that Disney decides to shake down from its guests gets closer to helping the locals make a living and not having to two finger point out where the restrooms are located.

Even if I stayed off-site, my opinion would still be the same. I would Uber to the parks daily or take whatever transportation they have (especially since some of those Disney Springs hotels have their buses as well). Still cheaper when you're paying for hotel parking (since many off-site places charge for parking as well) and parking at the theme parks.

When I went to Disneyland, I only rented a car for the period that I needed it, and I was off site. Of course, I could walk, but my plan last year (before the pandemic ruined everything) was off-site for a few days in a hotel too far to walk and either using the bus service or walking.

Plus, and maybe this is just me, but unless my vacation specifically includes driving around, like San Diego did, I don't want to drive on vacation. I hate driving in unfamiliar places. I don't mind doing it in South Carolina so much because usually it's rural back roads, and in Hilton Head, I usually know where I'm going, but other places when I'm tied to my GPS on unfamiliar roads in an unfamiliar vehicle...yeah no thanks. If it's my car, it's fine, but if not, I'd rather have someone drive me. Or walk.

The exception again would be Hawaii because their roads are pretty good and people don't drive like morons.

On a side note...
The camera on my iPhone 12 Pro Max is amazing...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Even with the usual quality loss between the phone and posting it on this site, that food pic is sooo crisp and clear, even on one of my 27" work monitors...such a noticeable and vast improvement over even my iPhone 8+, which I still think has a pretty darn good camera...!!!!! :geek: :)

We generally don't need GPS on the Orlando area:D

I don't need it going to Hershey anymore, and Hilton Head I can usually figure out where I'm going, but I need it pretty much everywhere else. I'm directionally challenged.
I can get to and from Hershey from my house while half asleep. Oh wait I have. I have at least 4 ways we can get to Orlando from my house. Dh's grandfather lived in TN so we even have a route that involves 75 I'm a lot of things but not generally directionally challenged
