Perhaps you could put a note on your door handle that says something like "Got your keys, wallet, and access card?" so you can not leave the house without seeing the note and reminding you to look for those things. After a while, you won't need the note to remind you...it will be automatic whenever you walk out the door. Whenever we leave the house, I ask my husband "Wallet, keys, keys, phone?" (2 keys because the house keys and car keys are on separate rings) And today I added "facemask" to the question. It's my checklist that automatically pops into my head whenever I open the door.
After my divorce, I had a girlfriend who was obsessed with door keys. She would ask about six times on the way out the door if I had the key. I used to find that obsession funny, somehow it's lost its humorous connection now. I presently have a note on my kitchen trash cover to check the fridge for items that need to be retired from that location. What's another note, I guess. It's probably easier then trying to get young again.

Electronic bills are your friend. But I understand people like to do things the traditional way. My parents still get their bills by snail mail.
That is true and all my bills are paid via computer. All my accounts are no paper type. They just notify me via E-mail that my statement is ready and I pay it. I still print off a copy to attach to my receipts, but I do not rely on mail for bill paying anymore. I guess there is a very limited use for USPS for me now except around Christmas, however, all my meds are ordered on line and sent to me via mail. It has been ages since I got a personal letter (other then Christmas) from anyone. All e-mails. Even though I have direct deposit for Social Security, the first "survival" check came in snail mail.

I hope it's quiet there! I was hoping it would be peaceful this year with the fireworks ban, but for the last several hours, I've heard nothing but loud, almost continuous bangs from illegal fireworks in our neighborhood. The police aren't putting a stop to it, and it's only going to get worse in 15 minutes when the clock strikes midnight.
So is 2021 all we expected it to be. Are things better yet?

UPS hires Christmas staff to handle the extra load. Why doesn't the USPS do the same they must have seen this coming ?

Garden wise I have tomatoes, lettuce, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, started in the green house. Trying something different covered one of the raised beds in plastic (mini greenhouse) and have cauliflower and three varieties of lettuce planted, main garden planted white, yellow onions and leeks . Ordered a bunch of seeds waiting on them for later planting. Coastal SC we can start much earlier than most.
You mean the budget cuts set by the current administration? ;)

We have a friend who is a traveling nurse. She works twelve on, twelve days off with covid patients in their homes. On day two of one of her off weeks she took her two daughters to a cheers competition and stayed in a hotel room with another family. They all ended up sick, along with another handful of girls from the team.

Surprisingly, only a few low-noise fireworks went off around 11 last night, and they were from quite a distance away. That was it. Dog was fine and slept through it all.

We heated up leftover Chinese food from night before, and it was delish even on day 2. :hungry:

I feel asleep after 9:30, but did see about 90 minutes of Andy and Anderson's show from Times Square. Andy had his usual lunacy going on (I think he was slightly inebriated, even prior to the start of the show :jawdrop: ), and Anderson was slightly the more refined of the two, but fun nonetheless. (They reminded me a little of the Odd Couple, like Felix and Oscar.)

Then, I woke up at 12:10 AM!! I missed the ball drop from Times Square! :banghead:
