What all are you guys putting in your garden this year?

Also, the mail.... I feel so bad for the mail handlers. They're doing the best they can to keep up, but they're slammed. Priority mail is taking two weeks. I cannot imagine the stress their under.
I put lots of flowers from seeds like zinnias and four o’clock. They grow really well and hummingbirds love them.
Vegs are usually tomatoes, cucumbers, some kind of pepper plant, and lettuces.

UPS hires Christmas staff to handle the extra load. Why doesn't the USPS do the same they must have seen this coming ?

Garden wise I have tomatoes, lettuce, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, started in the green house. Trying something different covered one of the raised beds in plastic (mini greenhouse) and have cauliflower and three varieties of lettuce planted, main garden planted white, yellow onions and leeks . Ordered a bunch of seeds waiting on them for later planting. Coastal SC we can start much earlier than most.

Regarding your first paragraph, I saw an interview on the news yesterday with a woman who was frustrated that her bills had been delayed, and by the time she got them and mailed them out, they arrived late at (whatever company) she was mailing them to. In one case, she was even hit with a late charge, that she had to pay, due to no fault of her own. :banghead:

I also have one bill that's been delayed by at least 8 days now, so I had to call the insurance company to tell them it never arrived. The customer rep. told me they've been slammed with calls from people all over, who have not received their bills. I ended up paying the bill over the phone via credit card, with the rep.

This is nuts. 🤦‍♀️

Electronic bills are your friend. But I understand people like to do things the traditional way. My parents still get their bills by snail mail.

@Willmark -- have you picked up your new vehicle yet? (In a recent post, you mentioned something about getting it transported to your area, so was just wondering if you have received it yet.)

Also, hoping that you and your family had a nice Christmas Day.
Not yet a bit of a mix up so it’s coming from the factory on the 14th, also not green. I might have it by the end of January though early February is likely.

long story but I’ll hold off until I have possession of it.

Also hope your holidays have been good.

Fingers crossed for you that you get the vehicle you intended to receive. Can't wait to hear the update, whenever the car finally arrives!

Yes, I had a very nice Christmas -- low key. :)

My other brother (who lives out in western MA) has a vegetable garden every year. I spoke to him on the phone the other day, and he mentioned he had gone out to his back yard a few minutes prior, and brought in some veggies for his dinner (he was making a vegetable soup). I was surprised he could still get veggies, (as his area usually has snow on ground, even when it's all melted in my area of the state). He told me that the snow was actually helpful (it wasn't deep) to keep the ground from not freezing. He has a lot of leaves that cover the plants, and then the snow above that provides some insulation, of sorts.

I don't have any garden, so I can't really relate to any of that; but he apparently still has a decent supply of veggies still in the ground -- in the winter! :jawdrop: (He did mention though, that he dug up all the carrots recently and has them in a cold storage shed.)

Then I'd forget the purse (man bag). I always have what I need in my pockets, unless I fail to put them in my pockets. I always have my car and apt. keys on me when I leave to go someplace because I lock my door with a dead bolt type that requires that I have my keys in order to lock the door. I did, however, once go out to throw my trash in the dumpster and was not really leaving. We have a card operated entrance to the building and my card was on my key chain in my kitchen. Just as I heard the door click shut behind me, it dawned on me that I didn't have my access card. It was early in the morning and I had to sit there and wait until someone either went out or went in so I could get back to my apartment. I haven't done that since, but I have helped others that did the same dumb thing.
I think that right now I should be commended for not creating a double entendre for that "man bag" thing. I have blood in my mouth from biting my tongue. I was famous for double entendre when I was I was in high school.
Perhaps you could put a note on your door handle that says something like "Got your keys, wallet, and access card?" so you can not leave the house without seeing the note and reminding you to look for those things. After a while, you won't need the note to remind you...it will be automatic whenever you walk out the door. Whenever we leave the house, I ask my husband "Wallet, keys, keys, phone?" (2 keys because the house keys and car keys are on separate rings) And today I added "facemask" to the question. It's my checklist that automatically pops into my head whenever I open the door.

OK, checked-in, disinfected, and puppy-prepped! The hotel is 4 minutes from my distributor, so I killed two birds with one stone and picked up my order for the long weekend.

As for quiet, it's across the street from a trailer park, so we'll see LOL.

I'm at work now for a bit (west side.) Brian is working until 6 (east side.) He'll go home, feed the pup, get whatever he needs, and bring her to meet me at the hotel, and we'll order whatever. (Let's go crazy! LOL.) Traditional Italian would be sausage & peppers for NYE. I may order from more than one place.

At the suggestion of my cousin, I have some low dose xanax to try on Kylie if it's worse than we hope.

Either way, this turns an otherwise potentially boring NYE into a bit of an event. I'm diggin' it.

Will do. Long story which I will relay later: big problem is availability; basically Tacoma’s, at least the one I want are in short supply.

I hope it's quiet there! I was hoping it would be peaceful this year with the fireworks ban, but for the last several hours, I've heard nothing but loud, almost continuous bangs from illegal fireworks in our neighborhood. The police aren't putting a stop to it, and it's only going to get worse in 15 minutes when the clock strikes midnight.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.
