Thanks! We did one more together because I bought one for A and he didn't want to do it. But I don't want to post that one until people have voted. But we took our favorite ideas from each of our houses and incorporated them into one. We had so much fun. We barely used any of the candies that came in the package, which wasn't much anyway. We used ones we already had at home, and I bought one bottle of Christmas sprinkles and some pretzels, and we had some candy canes on hand. The stuff in the package wasn't very imaginative and it was not a lot. A small packet of gummy shooting stars and something else that didn't seem very Christmasy, a small packet of like 15 m&m-like candies, and then some sugar candies like the rectangles in the walkway on the Holly Hut. And a black cat....I think that's what it was supposed to be, but it doesn't make much sense. Anyway, we pretty much ignored all that and used what we had here. We also used our cake decorating stuff make different colors of the icing, and to make the different patterns like the holly leaves, etc. That's beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She has my number, and she knows she can call me anytime. I like your idea, but I don't think I have any pics of her mom. But, DS had to do an interview many years ago, of someone who emigrated to the US. She graciously agreed. She came to the US with her handsome soldier husband. She was his momento from England. The two of them together were too cute. He passed away I think close to 20 years ago. I should ask DS if he has that interview, still.I'm so sorry for your loss!
Do you have any pictures of her? I'm sure her daughter would appreciate a little scrapbook of momentos of her mom, and it would be more personal that way. And maybe give her your phone number if she doesn't have it so if she wants to talk, she can?
They are both too pretty to eat. I vote for Holly Hut.Ok, E and I are taking a leaf out of @ajrwdwgirl 's book and did gingerbread houses. Please vote:

Finally another Christmas one.
Today, finally get to the fudge and rum balls.
I also found a recipe my mom used when my brothers were younger. It is a cookie mix base, that is the start of a bunch of different cookies. Planning on snowballs, thumbprints, peanut butter. There is a toffee cookie I might have to try, too. Since exchanging cookies isn't a thing this year, seems like a good way to get a bunch of different cookies, without having too many for he 4 of us.
And, last weekend was sad. The best neighbor I could have ever asked for passed away. All of the things I would normally do, I can't. Her daughter lives around the corner, and is also a close neighbor. Our boys grew up together. I know I can't see her, because there is no way I could not hug her afte her dear mother has passed. I can't send over a casserole, or dinner. Can't go to a wake or funeral. The best I can think of is a gift card for a food place to order from, and a card. But that doesn't seem adequate. So, in these Covid times, what do I do?

Vegan candied pecans. Notice I said vegan, not healthy
{{{HUGS}}}. I’m trying to catch up here. I sooo understand your frustration of life in the USA. Not a political statement just a frustration On how others decisions impact us during a pandemic. It sucks for us all. You didn’t choose a side Politically so you have nothing to answer for. Just trapped in life. We all need not to twist one another’s feelings of entrapment by politicians. Now that is just plan political. Try practicing what you preach. I'm sorry that you are so politically focused that you think that what I wrote was in anyway a political rant. It was an emotional rant. You can accept that or not that is your option.
My grandparents always had a shelf of spam in their pantry, never understood it. Never will! Edit except for the Spam what's weird about that breakfastI am one of the few that likes SPAM! In Hawaii, spam is very popular as a luncheon meat. The McDonalds breakfast special in Oahu when I went was miso soup, fried spam, scrambled eggs and a mound of white rice. McDonalds in China is coming up with a spam and Oreo cookies burger. That is a unique combination but then again some in NJ put ketchup on their bagel with Taylor Ham.
