My daughter in law bought a new Ford Focus just paid it off not long after she had it the transmission went on it (12months ago repaired by dealer). Yesterday going to work the same thing happened, had it towed to the dealer and they would not give her a loaner while it is repaired (took 2 weeks last time). Evidently there was a class action suit and repairs are covered and may be able to apply for a buy back (will investigate). Any one else out there with similar issues with Ford transmissions cars involved Fusion,Focus,Fiesta
We had a car that did that, but I don't remember if it was a Ford....definitely not any you mentioned. When we bought it, they told us it was basically like new because they had just put a new engine in it. 2 years later, it completely died on us on the way to my in-laws....fortunately, we were only a couple of blocks from our house. We paid 2000 euros to have the engine replaced because they said it couldn't be repaired. Another 2 years, and it died again and they said again that it needed a new engine. This was also the same car that the locks would freeze in the winter and you couldn't open the doors, or if you could open them, you couldn't close them. A few times we had to crawl through the hatch back to get in, and a couple of times, my husband had to drive with one hand holding the door shut because it wouldn't latch...one time I had to crawl out of the window to get out, and another I had to wave down a coworker to come open the door from the outside because it wouldn't open from the inside, and the window was frozen closed so I couldn't roll it down to open it from the outside. When the engine went, we decided enough was enough and we have been leasing cars since then. Always a nice new car that we don't have to pour thousands into to keep it running.

Now that I think about it, I think it was a Seat, not Ford. But hopefully she can get it all worked out! That's no fun.

We are having a rough week. I ended up re-reading The Host, because I needed comfort reading. I avoided the internet all day yesterday....just too stressful with opposing sides in the election, etc. So I finished my book today...now I'll move on to something else. And A is really struggling today. I think the stress from the election that's getting to me is getting to him, too, and then our parliament just announced more Corona measures on Tuesday, shutting down theaters, libraries, etc. His chess club meets in a library, so they can't have chess in person now. And I guess gym didn't go well today...they were supposed to play badminton, but played frisbee instead, and since he was really looking forward to badminton, the sudden change got him upset. So he was already mad when he came out of school, and then DH had to break the news about chess, and it's just all too much for him and he had a meltdown. He hasn't had a real meltdown for quite a while now. @Gabe1 , got any cute fluffy granddoggie pictures to share? I could use some adorableness. And for this week to be over.

Ford Fiesta, Ford Escort and Ford Focus all had different recalls because of defects.. some on engine, others in electrical and some in the tires area.

As some of you know I usually make gift baskets up for some relatives for Christmas/winter holiday gifts. They're filled with various pickles, jams, chutneys, sauces, cookies and such. Seeing this year is very different I'm making boxes filled with some different types of items lysol wipes, hand sanitizer, fancy syrups I didn't make, candy and a homemade Christmas ornament and mask some will also include a gift card or other homemade item. I was originally thinking about including the usual homemade canned items but the odds of getting jars back in time for canning season next year amount to slim and none not to mention the cost and danger of shipping glass. At least I timed the fancy syrup buying perfectly because I got them 30% off and free shipping:joyfull:
