Here, slab is a solid piece of concrete. Some older homes don't have basements and have crawl spaces beneath so the house is still raised up off the ground. I'm guessing but I think our basement is about 10 feet deep or maybe more. Our zoning only allows for full basements. Additions in relative small scale can have like a 4 foot foundation to form somewhat a crawl space. Over the years the additions that fail, you'll see them more slanty than the rest of the house or if they have tried to add an attached garage. Freezing ground does some unique things. Last year we had a hump in the middle of our driveway that wasn't there before. It sank back down in the spring but there is now a pretty little crack that is about 75 feet long. :cautious: Harsh winter, lots of sub zero lots of snow.

Forgot to follow up last night...

When we lived in NoCal, our houses were on pier and beam foundations with crawl spaces. No slab.

Also, because of the drought down here, some folks have been having issues with their slabs settling, as the soil has been so dry.

So, dinner last night was just a Jen & Mike affair. Too bad for Tammy, because it was lovely.
Another A+.

As Gabe would say, SLURP!
Needed a whole bunch of these though, as the spice factor was a teeny bit out of my comfort range.

Yep, all a' that DEFINITELY looks yum-o-rama-licious!!! ;) :)
The fish tacos made me swoon...! :hungry:

Last night, when we arrived at Epcot, we had time to ride beautiful SSE.
Then we booked it over to Mexico, via the Odyssey cut through.

We had a little time to do some shopping before being seated. I had requested a waterside table, but they all seemed to be four-tops. :(

After dinner, we cut through Odyssey again (score - limited exposure to late night F & W drunks!), rode Soarin', Living with the Land, and then SSE one more time.

It was a nice finish to a truncated day. I had been feeling kind of gypped at MK, not fulfilling my 8-9 ride/day requirement.

SSE is, far and away, one of my all-time fave Disney dark rides...! :inlove: :)

I honestly have no idea what kind of Recipes La Hacienda uses..
but Chile Relleno actually as not almendras or nuts.
Chile Relleno is just a simple chile, with some type of breading based on egg and filled with cheese inside (and swimming in tomato sauce)

I think you mean the CHILE EN NOGADA. It has a creamy sauce based on nuts(white sauce)

As for Mole , yeah, it has some nutz depending on the state recipe.
but the traditional Mole Poblano has almonds.

Love me some chili relleno! :)
Around here, you can also get them stuffed with beef, chicken, shrimp, etc..
I also love the basic cheese-stuffed chili relleno. :hungry:

According to the Disney menu, it's Chile Relleno.

According to the Disney menu, it's Chile Relleno.
it looks like this:

or this:

the first is the "Chile en Nogada" recipe.
the second is the "Chile Relleno".

Original recipe of chile relleno as NO NUTS or any kind of seeds.

*edit*
Just seen a photo on google of the version of San Angel.
that definitively is not the normal recipe.
Having cheese on top and other stuff is not the traditional way(tex mex perhaps?, because its the second time I've seen dishes in these "Mexican" restaurants, that add texmex variations than real mexican ones).

I just double checked. It is Chile Relleno with a red suace and the sauce does not contain almonds. They stuff the chile with nuts

definitively not the real mexican recipe then.

The chef probably tried to "make it more high end food" by adding more stuff on the recipes.
I noticed the same in other recipes as well, like the Mexican spaghetti (with shrimp on top..)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
At Epcot today, after a lovely, much needed (planned) late start.
After riding Soarin' (top row, yay!), we met up with some friends for lunch at Sunshine Seasons.

Mike and I both had the pork chop and strawberry shortcake. Sorry, no photos.
Tammy continued to nibble on Saltines.

We then proceeded to ride SSE, and then Mike & I went on Mission Space - Green. Tam decided to not push her luck.

Now in the pre-show for Stupid Judy.

Drinks @6:30 in England with our friends, and then dinner at Via Napoli. Hubby has never been, so he should enjoy it. Here's hoping Tammy is up to eating, as they do not allow split meals on the DDP.

And now, for some pics:

Do you know what I hate: sketchy companies offering me interviews.

I had one company offer me a job this summer but I turned it down. Week later, they got rid of basically all their workers because Medicare and Medicaid weren't paying them anymore.

Today, phone calls from Bankers Life and American Income. Scam. My dad was a cop so basically he says 'stay far far away.'

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Then we went to Imagination (meh!) and Captain EO.
Don't love it. Don't hate it. But quite frankly, I don't get it!

Backside of yesterday's fountain shot:

I noticed Tammy was looking pretty green, so I sent Mike to meet his friends, and I took Tam to the bus stop and waited with her.
Looks like it's dinner for two again tonight. :(
