I feel ancient and bewildered by this ridiculous display.
Even MTV is proving the world has gone insane.
My DD looks at me weird when I tell her music videos were like little movies.

Sure thing!Would you mind posting a link to her shop or putting it in a pm?
Oh and congrats on breaking even, I always lose.
Those are some pretty falls. You must have gotten a lot of rain there lately with the water on the falls being so muddy. Those pasties sound delicious. I honestly hadn't heard of them until I read the Harry Potter books, although I think I knew them previously as Jamaican hand pies. I love your shirts!
Well sort of......The dark brown color in the water is nothing to worry about. This color originates from the tannins that leach from the cedar swamp at the start of the Tahquamenon River. That isn't mud. That is the high mineral content in the area.
I knew I recognized it. One of my very best happy places. I could stare out that window and watch for hours.
Oh I read that, too, but that had more to do with needing approval for their reopening plan and it wasn't done soon enough for them to implement it and call all the CMs back, so they had no choice but to postpone it. It wasn't because of the rise in cases.I heard that they did delay Disneyland. I haven't verified that yet, so take it for what it is worth.

I haven't been to the market in a long time....not even sure it's been open actually. But we've been getting a lot of fresh fruit and veggies to munch on. I finished the grapes today, but I just got more kiwis, a watermelon, some cauliflower, and carrots. I finished the oranges yesterday. It's all been soooo sweet and good. No need to add sugar to anything, even the strawberries I had a couple of weeks ago, though I do eat those together with bananas and/or grapes to sweeten them up.As if there was any doubt I feel sorry for the people who got to the farm market after me![]()
Love his shirt!!We had a good time up north... only got lost once... (which seems to be mandatory every roadtrip) but didn't go too far out of our way. We went to Tahquamenon Falls, both Upper and Lower, and we went to a few casinos, we also went to the area of ft Michamackinaw near the foot of the bridge, and we had a pastie show down to decide which we liked best. And saw the biggest seagull we've ever seen!
Here are a few pictures!

After the falls we made our way back to our hotel, checked in, and Scott took a short nap. Then it was time for the Pastie show down, Bessie's Versus Lehto's.

For those that have never had a Pastie, it's a traditional hand pie, filled with ground skirt beef, potato's, onions, and either Carrots or Rutabaga's. Some people eat it with Ketchup, and some eat it with gravy. It's said that ketchup is a upper pennisula thing, and gravy is lower Michigan. However, I've always eaten them with ketchup. Unanimously, Scott and I both preferred the bottom one, which is Bessie's. It has carrots, but the seasoning was much tastier, and had a better mouth feel.
We went to a few casino's afterwards, and broke even... yay for free entertainment.
Yesterday we woke up and went to breakfast, and then went to explore Mackinaw City, which is a big tourist trap, but we did find our way to the fort area and I got to put my feet in the very cold water!

I stopped watching MTV in the 90's when they stopped playing music I liked and reality shows took hold.My DD looks at me weird when I tell her music videos were like little movies.
I was thinking pasties were like a British or Welsh thing. It was something the men could easily take out with them when they worked in the fields or whatever and they had the thick crust so if their hands were dirty they could eat just the main part and throw the crust away. I think I saw something about it on some National Geographic or Discovery channel thing YEARS ago, before I moved over here. Those are some pretty falls. The desk had Walt Disney's initials carved on it.

Cool I think my niece would like the hoop de doo shirt.

Where I go, the water is from Black River. The water gets its color from Hemlock trees, and the black rock that forms the bottom.
Although, I was always told it had to do with all the copper in the area. So, technically, I was still wrong, and learned something new.
