When I was a manager of a Scrubway...the owner told me to do an Roth IRA. Not the Irish republic army. Best advice ever.

Yep, it’s all taxed on the front end, so there’s no tax on the back end when you start to take it out at the eligible age. Plus, you can take up to all of your contributions out tax free at any time, just not the earnings...!!! :)

My husband has noted quite often that people from other countries curse in English. They will speak in their native tongue, but when it comes to cursing will curse in English. What is funny is that I really do not curse, but I don't have a problem cursing in German. It's almost like, well, it's a foreign language so it's ok to curse in it. :hilarious:
Yeah, I think because it doesn't have the cultural weight behind it in a different language. You don't grow up hearing it used or being told that you shouldn't say that word, so it doesn't have the same context. It doesn't feel like swearing. It's like saying "oh shoot!" or "Fudge!!" instead of the actual words. And for kids over here, America is really cool....that's where everyone wants to go: New York, Vegas, or LA...and they watch American TV shows and movies, and listen to American music...they want to emulate it, and because it's not their native language, they don't feel like they're swearing even though they know that in the US, it would be bad, so there's also a certain excitement of the taboo.

I think they are done with that by me. But you can order online and they will bring it to your car if you want.
I did my first home delivery order this week, but not because of Covid. When they emptied the biodegradable trash bin last week, they didn't actually empty it. It stuck and only got 1/3 emptied. I had mowed the grass and it all caked in the container. So my husband complained and the city decided to give us a bigger bin for that, which is great, but we don't want it to happen again, so we decided to get bags to line it. But, for that container, you can't use plastic liners....it has to be biodegradable. The grocery store only carries the biodegradable liners in the smaller size, not the bigger size. The bigger size is only available for online order for home delivery. And in order to get it delivered, you need a minimum of 50 euro order. So I had to get a bunch of other stuff, too, in order to get the dang trash bags. 50 bucks is a LOT of groceries!!

Wouldn’t really tick me off (I’d just imbibe a little at one of the airport bars pre-flight ;)), but, I may, or may not, enjoy the occasional in-flight adult beverage every now and again (BTW, Tito’s Vodka is made in Austin)...!!! ;)

I've never had any liquor on a plane before. (Always figured I gave them enough of my money for the ticket, and that was enough! :D )

One cautionary warning. Usually that money is never taxable because at the time one is drawing it, other income is usually limited, however, if you draw enough and combined with whatever other "taxable" income you might have, the entire amount including the Trad. IRA that you had withdrawn that year will be taxable. SS is never taxable, but that plan is called a deferred tax plan, invested before taxes and can become taxable if combined with enough other income to kick you into a tax bracket that is above the deductibles. Mind you, you have to be in a pretty comfortable financial situation for it to amount to a lot of money, but, alas it is still taxable. A single person like me would have to have other taxable income of about 25K before it kicks in, but once it kicks in that Trad. IRA portion becomes taxable as well. Simply speaking if I have total income of less then $25K (approx) including my Trad. IRA withdrawals I will not owe any taxes. However if my other income is over that amount then all of it including the IRA withdrawals will be taxable. Any investments from money after taxes will not be taxable again. It was already paid and then the profits, interest and dividends will be the only liability.

So, the good news this morning: I now have until October to renew my driver's license. I can't renew online this time, because I have to do a vision test. Also, one kid's permit is also automatically extended.

Now the bad news. My local DMV is now shut down until July 2nd, due to Covid concerns. Exactly 2 weeks. So, someone who works there, or was there must have tested positive. My DD takes her Drivers test next week. The State of IL, to help with the onslaught of new drivers, is allowing some (maybe all, not sure) driving schools to administer the road test. So, for a small fee, DD and I don't have to camp out overnight to try and get one of the precious few testing spots available. What are my chances that I can convince her to wait until after July 2nd to turn in her positive road test results, take her vision test, and get her license. Yeah, slim to none.

Good morning all!
Today is my last day of school.
The only school related thing I expect to do on this final day is "attend" a voluntary End of the Year ZOOM Faculty Meeting with my principal at 9:30AM.
Tomorrow is the first day of summer, correct?
Yes, at 5:44 your time, if you want to be super technical about it. I think, once your meeting is done, that is your start of summer. Enjoy!

Congrats on your last day of school, hopefully we are all back to normal in the fall. Do you have to do any summer band lessons? And yes technically tomorrow is the first day of summer, my hubs is sad it doesn't land on his birthday as it normally does.

No
I would say the same for the NE Patriots. There are fans of the football team and the rest of the country that would just like them to lose every time.
The reason that was what initially popped into my head was because one time, when we were driving down to South Carolina, my dad was trying to give me life advice, and he said, "If you remember nothing else I tell you remember this". He then got completely distracted by someone's Patriots bumper sticker and said "Patriots suck!" So the life advice is if I remember nothing else he tells me, I should remember that the Patriots suck. Got it. 😂
