That's a nice benefit for you. :)

(Side note: up here, the State Police have reported an uptick in really bad car crashes, due to some people who think open roads mean driving, like it's the Daytona 500. So just a heads up -- fewer cars out, but they're going faster; and obviously, none of them have a clue how to drive.)

A nice (unfortunately, during a very sad, bad time) benefit indeed, and a major change from the traffic jams pre-covid.

Also, to be to clear, by flyin’ down the roads, I simply mean there are no more of those traffic jams for now.
I typically drive between the posted speed limit to about 5mph over (not so much in my younger days:cautious: ;)), but, I have ALWAYS driven at or below the speed limit in school zones.
But, yes, the crazies are out, just as they always have been anytime the roads are relatively clear.
Last night during my commute home on the freeway, a BMW SUV blew past me...if they weren’t doin’ triple digits, they were damn close.
And this mornin, a potential soon-to-be highway death statistic on a motorcycle blew by me doin’ at least 90. He would go between small groups of cars that were next to each other down the white stripe. All it woulda’ taken was one of those cars makin’ a blind spot lane change and they’d a’ been scrapin’ what was left of his sorry a$$ carcass of the road for a closed casket service and planting.
But, I have yet to hear anything about traffic death statistics around here based on the current situation.

Not in Illinois. Our Park Districts are still closed beyond Golf and even that is a sliver of the amount of golfers allowed 2 per tee time and 15 minutes apart.

Given a 12 year old just died with mutated version of the virus today and other children still at NorthWestern University Hospital I don't see too many parents here clambering to ignore what is happening and developing. The majority of employers have adjusted to their employees working at home. Hopefully most parents are rolling with it with the attitude of live to play another day. Up here when the park district and clubs closed it was mostly the parents that couldn't cope. The few kids that lost it were of parents that failed to cope.

I see 4th graders comments in Google Classroom, every day via the mobile app. It’s the kids typing, not their parents. They miss their school, friends, and extracurriculars. The football kids have also expressed fear over not having their season, which doesn’t even start until August.
I see parents of 8th graders and high school seniors, posting real stories about how their kids are heartbroken over not having those once in a lifetime experiences, and not getting to complete their last year of a sport with the school.. for many of the seniors, it would have been their last time playing, ever.

I think it’s much easier to tell ourselves that the kids aren’t upset. That way we can convince ourselves that heartache, hurt, or depression, isn’t what’s really going on. We don’t have to acknowledge what they’ve lost.

hmmmm So I've never had this before... and was looking at recipes, but none of the recipes I saw used condensed milk or enchilada sauce.

As I posted, there are many variations (the only comparison I can make off the top of my head is so many variations of pizza).
Recipes can vary between families and never be posted anywhere...all I know is, anytime King Ranch Casserole is mentioned for dinner (or leftovers for breakfast, lunch, or dinner ;)) my mouth starts to water...!!!!! :hungry:

I recall the crazy 80s barely. It was a totally bodacious time and girls I hung out with were all fly. The grunge scene in the 90s was terrible. The music, the fans trying to mimic the lifestyle with unkempt smelly hair and bodies, unshaven and ripped up clothing bordering on disgusting.

I graduated HS in ‘80. So, my friends and people I went to school with were pretty much the cast from “That 70’s Show...!!!!! :hilarious:
But, beyond that, I also partied my beeeeeeehind off after that ‘til about ‘84. So, I overlapped both decades during my teen years, as I graduated HS at 17. Was never much of a fan of disco, but, many chicks dug it, so we went with it. Although there was some decent music in the 80’s, I mostly liked 70’s rock. Boston, Foghat, Cheap Trick, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, early Styx, early April Wine, etc., etc., etc. Some crazy times, but, we had a helluva’ lot a’ fun too...!!!!!!! :joyfull:

Well Baltimore City isnt reopening and Baltimore County is only partially reopening. I blame @StarWarsGirl for her Target runs.
I'm giving our county executive a week. If he hasn't changed his mind I'm just gonna hop over to Harford County and get a haircut. It's literally 10 minutes for me to get over there... it's so stupid. Cross the line...haircut...on the other side of the line...no haircut.

Sometimes all it takes is for parents to pull up their Big Girl (boy) Pants and parent. No wonder some kids can't move on if their parents cannot. If the parent remains unable to cope the kid won’t either.

Sure they get to mourn the activities not happening but we teach them to cope. As I watch days going into weeks and now months it is the same sadness and lack of coping skills. Now that it is been months of everyone seeing clearly this is a horrid situation. People realize even kids that 85000 plus are Dead, millions unemployed. Even kids have to be taught to Move forward for Their mental health and that should be our focus as mentors and Parents.

If anyone can’t get a grip On the Big picture professional help is likely needed. Maybe family counseling to get parent and child through their extended mourning of activities cancelled. We lost more than athletic clubs here we lost a 12 year old. Now how these parents move past that upsetting news and the boys friends ability to cope with the death of a friend and teammate is the real concern.

What if your county has their lockdown timeline right and harford has a rise in cases due to hairdressers etc ?
Is it worth the risk for someone in a high risk category ?

The fact that most European countries are the size of our States makes it cost effective to have public transportation. I took Amtrak from Charleston to West Palm Beach FL one time and what a nightmare the restrooms on the train were filthy, seats were uncomfortable never do it again
We do have trains that go country to country though...no different than going state to state.
I took greyhound from Wyoming to Vancouver Canada a couple of times...took 3 days and it wasn't ideal, but it was cheap and it got me there. But I'd much rather take a train if that was an option.
