I taught one of my favorite students today, Larry. He has been learning punctuation. He is such smart kid. We had 2 minutes left in class time. He had an assessment today and scored perfectly. I decided to play him a "School House Rock" cartoon. It is the one with interjections. Thought it would really drive home when to use them. He loved it. When he watched it he said "Oh, ok", when it was pointed out when to use the exclamation point. That made me happy. He got it! this was also my favorite School House Rock cartoon. I also loved "The Shot Heard Around the World". Who remembers that 245 years ago tomorrow the Revolutionary War began? Also tonight marks the infamous Paul Revere Ride.

I think it was late into 1st grade when T was really into the “What Would You Do?” books (I think that’s what they were called). Anyway, he read one on the Revolutionary War, he thought it was so awesome when he read about Paul Revere’s ride being on April 18th. It’s one of the historical dates that he won’t forget, he’ll randomly bring it up occasionally.

Thank you!! I’m saving both of these cakes btw. I’ve never seen either one before!! They’re perfect!

I made my dad a loaf of something new to me called peanut butter bread..... I made us one the day before. It's odd... it's bread that tastes like peanut butter. When I ate a little piece, I felt like it needed a topping, like jam, or nutella, or maybe some butter. It's strange.
That sounds very tasty. I'm picturing it with some cherry preserves spread on. Was it a mix or a recipe?

@MySmallWorldof4 , I just did a quick unsuccessful YouTube search of a WWI song. I’ll have to ask T if he remembers the name of it. He sings the song often because he likes the tune... the great part about it is that he has remembered a lot of info because of that song. I think it’s neat that kids have those resources now.

It was a beautiful Saturday here. I went for one walk with the dog and saw some Canada geese by the creek.

Yes, it's "busy" season for the Canada geese here, too. I was traipsing through the woods last week, and came upon an opening in the lagoon area. I saw a C. goose sitting on a nest, and realized it must be mating season. I was only there for a few seconds and she started flipping her wings and screeching -- then her c. goose husband flys (from the opposite end of the lagoon, about 80 feet away) in record speed over to there, and I bolted out of there in a flash! (Didn't mean to startle the female -- came upon her by accident.) 🤦‍♀️

We have them here 365/24/7. I wish there was a way to extradite them back to Canada. I have been down her 9 years today and the number of times I have had to stop and wait for them to cross the road or have them attack my car because I appear to be taking up their space is uncountable.

One thing I have noticed is until this "stay at home" thing I never saw a single auto/stupid bird fatality. Now I see them everyday. I'm thinking that we have collectively lost a lot of our patience and it is thinning out the herd. Maybe they will remember that they can fly and stop holding up traffic while they leisurely cross highway. Why did the goose cross the road? To annoy us! And it works.

They are a menace espcially when I was young and playing baseball and such. Obviously, they do not know the border is closed.
