We were all over at the kiddos place for a bit later at night and they were still gettin’ trick or treaters around 9p. All in all fun for us all...!!!!!
I love their costumes. I wonder what little Emy though when she saw the grownups in the costumes.

And all caught up. Today I have 2 of my Chinese students to work with. One at 5:30 and one at 7 this morning. It is going to be fun when we change the clocks. Guess I am going to start going to bed at 8! After that have to hurry and get youngest’s hair done. The cheer teams have their showcase. It is where the teams show their new routines to parents, family, and friends. They still haven’t had a clean routine in practice. I am just hoping dd doesn’t get dropped. They practiced the pyramid the other day and the bases had her legs so spread out she couldn’t stand and then fell. These 2 kids are notorious for not being close enough. They were punished with burpees. Anyway after showcase kids will decorate pumpkins and parents are making “spirit wear”.

The only thing done is buying Christmas cards and that is because my mom's birthday is this month.

My Christmas shopping for gifts starts with my younger brother with it being likely sometime next week. I still need a Christmas list from mom. My dad does not make out Christmas lists at all, but yet expects to receive more than one Christmas present. What my dad does is he tells us a gift he wants My mom, My younger brother, and I sharing the cost of the gift.

At this point, I do have an answer for my dad, but it depends on when dad mentions the item he wants us to give him. I have a budget for what I spend. All I am willing to say is I know places he goes to and buys stuff at.

You're very organized, I must say! I like that you mentioned you had a budget for what you spend. If you stick to the budget, you won't go into any debt, post-Christmas. The problem is that many people just go nutty buying stuff (often on impulse, plus their original list of items), and I pulled myself out of that trap years ago. ;)

I remember when the recommended oil change interval was 3 months or 3,000 miles. Now, it seems to vary between 5,000-10,000 miles.
Synthetics...!!! ;):)
The last two cars I have had were 10K. I followed it close to the letter. My current car has the same but it came with a "free"*, service at 10K and 20K. I do check to make sure the levels are OK, but other then that, if they say 10K then if anything goes wrong it is on them. It was a hard habit for me to break as well. After years of 3K it is tough to go 10K.
As if anything is ever "free". It's in those charges someplace.

This made me laugh because you wouldn’t believe this. My oldest and I had a discussion in the kitchen maybe 2 days ago. She mentioned what I thought was “Disco girl” and she said no it was VSCO girl. Ummm...what? Then she explained that they use hydroflasks and other stuff I apparently no nothing about. She only mentioned it because she said some people were calling someone she knows that and she thought it was ridiculous. Kids nowadays. I don’t get it. She also had been gung ho about getting a metal straw and I was totally against. We don’t need them. Then she read articles about how people were chipping their teeth on them. Duh. Could have told you that would happen. Also she said someone died because she had one in her mouth while running, tripped, and ..... Whether or not that was true I don’t know. I just think they are another fad.

Are kids using it as an insult? I know he likes the girl in question. But yeah, I don’t want her feelings hurt.

I have metal straws on my Starbucks cups, but i drink them while sitting down. 🤣

One of the Homecoming dress up days this year was vsco, and at first I thought they were talking about disco. Then the kids showed me a picture and to me it looked like the girls were dressing up as a cross between 80's-90's style. I think disco would have been more fun.

I googled it last night and asked T about it again this morning. He says that’s what he wants to be for Halloween next year. 🤦‍♀️😂🤦‍♀️

When did scrunchies come back in fashion, and how did I not know about it??? Lol

Scrunchies...I know! I have seen so many girls wearing them this year. The boys seem to want to wear them around their wrists too. So weird. All I can think about when I see the scrunchies is the episode of S$X in the City when Carrie reads her boyfriends novel and has the female character running around in a scrunchie in NYC and she freaks out about it.

Ummm... I’ll just repost my FB post.
How do these kids know about a vsco girl??? I don’t even know what it means. According to T it’s “ a girl with a hydro flask, pretty, talks in exclamation points, and ya know.” No, I don’t know. 🤦‍♀️

I'm pretty sure this is what E keeps mentioning...girls with hydroflasks, and hair scrunchies and they say "ioop" and wear long tshirts. I kind of think of it like when I was growing up and you had "valley girls" who were ditsy and used the word "like" a lot. But I have no idea.
