Youngest has seen all the Potter movies. She is reading the third book now. She is actually excited about reading them since she has seen all the films. I would say that T can watch without worry the first 3. Of course you have dementors in the third one, so I guess they can be kind of scary, but it is my family's favorite.
My kids have both read the first 3 I think? E has seen all but the last 2 movies I think? Because she knows what's coming and doesn't want to see a particular part. A has watched through 4, I believe...but it scared him. He's very very sensitive with movies. We tried to watch the 2nd Carrots movie yesterday and we were only like 10 minutes in and he turned away and made me turn it off because he didn't like Bootstrap Bill's face. It freaked him out. He has all the HP books in Dutch...we started reading them in English when he was like 7, but he had a hard time with English back then. Now he's fluent, so that wouldn't be a problem, but he asked for the books in Dutch and got them for Christmas 2 years ago. I think it will be a while before he goes any further with the series. He likes it, but it's too intense for him.

No bad language in the Potter films. It can have scary scenes, especially as the "years" go on. I haven't seen the Black Panther, so I cannot compare it to a Potter film. Youngest doesn't like Number 2 because she doesn't like the way Harry gets treated by the other kids when they think he is the Heir of Slytherin.
I have only watched the last movies once, because they completely ruined them from #3 on...I am a book snob when it comes to film adaptations. I won't watch the Twilight films often either. But I know in the book Deathly Hallows, there is one swear word during the battle of Hogwarts, with Molly Weasley. But I don't know if they put that in the movie or not....it was a significant line in the books, but then, one of the best lines in the series was cut out of Half-blood Prince, so who knows whether or not they kept the line with the swear word. But that's the only swear word I can think of off the top of my head.
That being said, the later books are very dark, lots of suspense, death, difficult subject matter. It also depends on the kid. One of my friends had her daughter watching the movies when she was 4....she apparently laughed at the Death Eaters. But my 11 year old has trouble with Order of the Phoenix...and maybe even Goblet of Fire.

2 weeks and 30 pages behind. All is well except in my infinite stupidity decided to do just about all my canning since my moms are both in good shape:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Getting the last tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers at the same time as apples just was a bit more than wayyyy too much at once lol. I still have some of the hot peppers to get done. What fool decides 2 bushels of hot peppers is a good idea:facepalm: ps will skip over the FB stuff seeing it was covered elsewhere. THNX for understanding

My wife does all the canning and I do all the growing, she got a tomato break this year between the drought and the excessive heat this year my tomatoes did nothing, lucky last year we had a bumper crop and she put up 200qts so we will have enough to get us through till next year. Only plus I did not have to listen to her say " I HATE TOMATOES" every day she was canning.

Oh, for the gals on this thread, have any of you used those (sort of) new hair styling wands? These are not to be confused with the previous ones that had the clip thing. Some of these newer ones are fun, if you want quick, loose waves (term they use is "beach-y style ocean waves"), or even tighter curls if you want.

I have medium-length hair (just below the shoulders) and I really like the "look". (Can't be bothered to do this every day, but a few times a week, or for a night out, these are the bees knees!) :joyfull:

(Here's the one I bought (Infiniti Pro Conair, titanium curling wand-- retails around $30, but I had a coupon and also a special sale price, which knocked it way down!) :)

THNX, When all the insanity started taking up all my time I got my hair cut short and have only been trimming the bangs since so I'll keep it in mind once my hair once again is long enough to use it

So question: anyone have one of those food saver vacuum saver machines? My DD has one and talks me into buying one, comes tomorrow. She loves hers.
Yes we do have one. The one we have is almost commercial grade they say it can pack up a whole deer without over heating. We killed a regular one after quite a few years but find it rather useful. Hope that helps
