The Boat House construction at Disney Springs The Landing

Great progress. Is it me, or does it look like they have already changed the design? It looks like they are building a second story yet I don't see that in the artist rendering.

IS the framing all metal? or wood pillars?
kinda hard to tell from the low res of the pictures.

the framing is following the rendering pretty closely actually. The renderings perspective is from the water while the photos being taken are about 90º off from that. In the rendering the portion of the building with the second story is on the right side of the rendering. It has brown vertical siding with white trimmings that remind me of an old german house.

It's all Steel. The base is galvanized which is why it is a gray color while the buildings structure is Painted with Red oxide primer. Both methods are great at keeping rust away but Red oxide primer takes paint while galvanized steel really doesn't hold paint well.

Your welcome. Disney Springs will open in phases over the next year and a half. I think it will be great also.

They have not announced that yet. But definitely many will open in 2015.

What is everyone basing their praise for the restaurant on? All we know about it is a couple pieces of concept art and the only thing we can see so far of the construction is a steel frame.

I think it is just the scale of the project plus the totality of all the concept art that is creating so much buzz for some of us. I can't think of anything else like this anywhere that is comparable.

This restaurant is going to be 22,000 sq ft. According to my calculations Rainforest is about the same size. I am honestly not trying to knock the project, just am not seeing anything concrete yet to get excited about.
