Good Sunday Morning Everyone...Well I tried my first Grey Goose last night and had it neat poured over ice ( or on the rocks as you say ) and I thought to myself " Is that it "...Sorry Figgy, but it did nothing for me..Yes it tasted smoother than Smirnoff, but at three times more expensive than Smirnoff,I was expecting something really awesome..This got me thinking..They are certain dishes at WDW that everyone raves about for example the Fillet & mushroom risotto at Le Cellier..The famous Jiko Fillet with mac & cheese..But have you ever had a meal like a signature dish and thought "Whats all the fuss about"

FYI - if run a cheaper vodka through a brita water filter (with out the water of course), you will have a better tasting vodka and you save the moola :)

This is on my list of things to do. What didn't you like?
This a few years back. The mood of the wait staff completely changed when we advised them we did not want the wine parings. The food was not nearly as good as the hype and we just felt like that the overall experience was not all that it is talked up to be. Plus, having to wear a jacket on vacation didn't impress either.

Funny about the Grey Goose, but I'm not surprised. It mixes better than most vodkas, but it usually comes up short when it's pitted against other vodkas in taste tests. Most bartenders and liquor store owners I've chatted with say Reyka, Ketel One, and Belvedere taste significantly better straight out of the bottle.

As for WDW...Le Cellier was the #1 over-hyped thing for us. The filet was tasty, but hardly "the best steak of my life." The cheese soup was a similar letdown...it didn't even taste from scratch to me. i.e. it had more of a semi-homemade - we kicked it up with some Campbell's condensed soup - sort of taste and consistency.

I feel like that whole "riding rides and watching shows with your loved ones in a richly-themed environment designed to make lifelong memories" thing everybody goes wild about around here is a little overhyped.

Yes it's fun, BUT you have to put on pants and move, so that's a strike against the whole thing.

Ketel One would be my first choice any day of the week.

What is over-hyped to me?
Mickey ice cream bar.
I don't get it.
