The Apprentice 3: Book Smarts vs. Street Smarts

As a long time visitor to the Jersey shore, I kind of cracked up when Carolyn read one of the Yahoo reviews as "It is what it is: a Jersey shore motel room". I think anyone whos ever been down shore would tell you that those rooms were pretty much standard shore issue, regardless of which point you went to  I have seen the brown paneling and bad paint jobs before, and yes, plastic on the mattress  My favorite was the place we stayed at that had no phones in the rooms, but if you did receive a call, the front desk would buzz you on the intercom

What I think set Magna apart was the fact that they made it fun for their guests. That little party was a fabulous idea. Took the generic dumpy shore room and gave their guests an experience beyond a cruddy room. Net Worth gave their guests a show...but who really wants to watch all that bickering and 4~letter word festival? :lookaroun

Next week looks gooooood!!

WHat was up with VERNA??? She must have had quite the easy life if she can't handle being a part of the show!

Then, (in the WILL THEY NEVER LEARN column) Brian tells Trump to fire him! HAHAHAHA!

...and that Kristen has GOT to go!

Can't wait to see who walks off the show next week!

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!

:hammer:

They filmed in Seaside Heights (yes the same Seaside Heights MTV always uses). I live in the Park. About 6 miles south, and trust me, a world of difference in every single way.

But, neat again, to see "my*" community on national TV.

*not really my town, but next door neighbor.

And, by the way, those rooms go for about 200-550/night in the summer, way more than most/all Disney Resorts where so much more is offered, and where it is CLEAN and SAFE! Do you see what those motel marquee's advertised: color TV, air conditioning, swimming pool, and towels that fit around you. I thought that was kinda standard these days.

Hey...thanks for the recap GenX....I finally caught it again tonight on cnbc...omg, I couldn't believe he told Trump he deserved to be fired...what a doofus. It was a good show though. I really like the guy on networth that was the leader last week. I hope he goes far. I can't think of his name though, I don't know all of their names yet. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders...hope he keeps it up.

How interesting Surfsupdon to have that filmed near you. I can't believe those rooms cost that much. Do they look like those rooms on the show? I would be so upset to pay that much for that! uggh

Thanks again for recapping for me.

No problem, Goofette! The guy on Net Worth you're referring to is John. I agree that he seems to be the most capable of anyone, so far.

Anyone think there is a connection with there being a guy from tampa, I think his name is John (Networth's first PM) and the announcement that Trump is building a condo Tower in downtown Tampa???

Rumors are flying that he will win and one of his choices will be the project here.

Wow that was interesting that Verna left early on in the show. No suprise on Danny getting canned. What was the web site again to get the free coffee for two weeks???

Danny ("Mr -ba-ya") is very annoying and I found his teams' "unbelievable" tag line annoying. I cannot see him running one of Trumps companies and don't forsee him being around past the next couple of tasks, if he keeps up hippie stuff.
I agree with you on that. He seems like he runs one of those "pryamid scams" companies.

This episode confirmed a theory I've had for a while: the way you behave when you have an exemption speaks volume about your character. In The Apprentice 2: Dull Guys vs. Hateful Women, Kelly contributed and worked hard when he had an exemption. Same for Sandy. Maria, on the other hand, did nothing. I remember Carolyn saying, "I don't know what Maria's doing" on her exemption task. Kelly and Sandy have little to be ashamed of in their performances during the entire season. Maria's performance throughout, however, was horrific.

Now, we have Michael. He's always got that disconcerting "angry baby" look on his face, and his ideas this week were abominable. He's going nowhere. This is opposed to John, who despite his exemption last week in the hotel renovation task, put in a tremendous effort. He's a sharp guy.

I guess I'll be catching the show on CNBC again....never fails I get phone calls during the shows I really like. I did see the end of this one however. Looks like it'll be a good show when I get to see it. Ok all...Gotta get to bed, I just noticed it's 2:22am....Sleep is calling. I'll probably post tomorrow after I watch the show. Oh....and YAY on Danny getting the Boot. DId John do as good a job tonight as he's done on the other shows? So far I'm REALLY rooting for him. There's something about that guy I Like a LOT! I just hope he continues to do well. Guess I'll try to catch the show tomorrow.

Well, I get more and more annoyed with the show. The promos explain how someone will quit, "but it isn't who you would expect." But it was.

My friends and I agree that this show is getting stale and does not have the longevity like the many Survivors did. They shoved this one too soon to the end of the other.

I'm looking forward to The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. I like her and am intrigued to see how the spinoff will change.

Boy, were those commercials pathetic. It was good to see Kristen go, though, because she was just obnoxious. And humorless. So far my favorites are John, Audrey, and Angie, all from the Street Smarts team. I think the producers want me to root for the other team because I'm a college graduate, but the three I mentioned seem to be the smartest, most reasonable people there.

Just wondering if there are any of you that are still keeping up with this show. I keep forgetting what night it's on.

So far, I'm still rooting for John.... I'm So Glad Michaels gone.

I'm still watching. Now that Survivor has started, Thursday is back to being my big reality TV night.

It's good that Michael is gone. I think the firings have made more sense this year, as The Hair has been axing the unproductive, disruptive people first.

It's sad to report, but I have since stopped watching Apprentice. They keep promising the "best" and "shocks" but it's anyhting but. And it would annoy me. My friends agree. I want to watch, b/c I liked the show, but it just isn't as good.

Survivor on the other hand, is off to a good start and I fully enjoyed the premiere. Instead f watching Apprentice, I watch my tape of The OC.

I will, however, watch The Apprentice: Martha Stewart.

I agree, Survivor is the show to Watch. Do we have a survivor thread and I'm just blind. If we don't we need to have one.

I'll still be watching this one also
