The Amazing Race Family Edition

I admit the Weavers are annoying, but I want them to win. They've gone through most, if not ALL the game without any help or alliances with any of the other teams. They've been yeilded twice and still made it to the final. I think they know how to best play the game, so i think they should earn the title.

But I'm pretty sure the Linzes are going to win, after the whole scandal with the betting website and stuff.

This season has been an interesting experiment for The Amazing Race.

On the plus side, the four-person Detours are cool, teams aren't losing because of random cab driving, and as usual, the scenery has been beautiful.

On the negative side, there has been an insane amount of bunching, the foreign country language/signage problems aren't coming into play, and I don't feel I've gotten to know all of the individual racers that well.

I think the Bransens will win, and what's more, I think they'll win on a big contribution from Dad Bransen. They've shown him saying, many times, that he's dragging his daughters down. It would be a great story arc to have him essentially hit the game winning home run.

I think the Weavers will come in second. They work well as an Us vs. Them team, but I don't think they're as smart or as athletic as the Bransens. Mom Weaver certainly doesn't foster a friendly, outgoing attitude in her family.

The Linz family, while the most likely to win a footrace, has made a couple of dumb mistakes along the way. Also, I don't really see much of a storyline for them, other than the sister proving herself to her brothers. A Linz win would be the least dramatic.

It was pretty funny when the Linz family was talking about Buffalo Bill...

Megan: "Buffalo bill iwas a real person.

One of the guys: "It puts the lotion on its skin!"

Laughed out loud!

I might be wrong on this but weren't both yields used during non-elimination legs.

I don't know. But with the yeild before the bean-hunt challenge, they ended up NOT coming in last place for that leg.

Apparently, a bunch of people started betting a lot of money on the Linzes all at once. People suspected that the news of their winning got out and the site had to be shut down. I don't know if I believe it.

So who's gonna win tonight?

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LINZ FAMILY!!!

:sohappy:

What an excitinig final show to wrap up an otherwise lack-luster season of the best reality show on television!

Looking forward to a return to the original format in February!

Yay Linz Family! :sohappy:

I really enjoyed the finale! I'm glad the Linz family won and I was happy to see Wally come through for the Bransen family on the puzzle. Looking forward to next season!

What a great finale to an otherwise so-so season. I really couldn't decide if I wanted the Linzes or the Bransens to win. And my heart was pounding during the puzzle task.

I felt bad for the Weavers in the end. I think they just kinda gave up after the stadium seats task. Did they even do the puzzle at the end? It didn't look like it

Excellent finale - I'm happy for the Linz family, and the Bransen's definitely showed a lot of class too. I thought the Weavers were totally obnoxious, as usual. I really wanted to see them try the puzzle at the end, since they seemed to have such a great grasp of geography :lol:

I thought the Weavers were waiting for God to miraculously shine a light on the location of the departure ticket in the stadium. Since that didn't happen, and they weren't willing to actually WORK to find it, they gave up. Rolly shows a lot more class than his mother and sisters do. I hope his leadership starts rubbing off on the rest of them.

Completely agree. Of course, we don't get an accurate depiction of people from these reality shows, but he does seem to be the only one in that family with class. He was a little quiet but really worked hard at every challenge. I think he might have been a little embarased by his sisters.

ah ok. it definatly sounds like the word got out a bit early!

I am glad the Linzes won, that was and exciting finish between them and the bransens. I really thought Wally would pull it out in the end! It was quite exciting.

It's happened before too. It happened the season Uchenna and Joyce won (I already forget when that was. Was it just last season?)

I'm looking forward to February. Back to the real format: teams of two, and a race around the world! :sohappy:

The one thing that absolutely drives me nuts is that they bunch up the teams way too much. It is like every episode that the teams have to wait for something to open. A good example is when they have a team leave at midnight after a pit stop only to get to the airport to find out that the next flight isn’t until 2PM.

Let the people race!

Agreed. And embarrassed by his mother, too.

The editing throughout the season made me think Wally was going to win it big for the Bransens. When I saw the puzzle, I thought about how often they had shown Wally staring at the map in the back of their cars. I thought he was going to pull it off.

Oh well, I was fine with the Linz family winning. Of the final four, they were the only team not to have finished last in a leg and gotten saved by a non-elimination.

Given the Weaver family's fine geography skills ("Where's Pennsylvania?", "Lake Pontchartrain is a Great Lake", etc.), they probably never finished the puzzle task. Who would've thought the family you felt the most sorry for at the start of the season would turn out to be the villains?

I guess it is just perspective, but I never thought of the Weavers as villains. I thought this the first season when their were multiple teams as villains, who selected one to constantly pick on.

Of course I chalk all of that up to editing. Editing can make any team appear to be the villains when we know in "reality" every team hasactions or speaks words that could be offensive. It is jsut what is choosed to be shown. Still a great series though!
