We're doing that. My 6, 8, and 10 year old boys got hooked on The Amazing Race watching the reruns on GSN. Now, with the family edition, they are even more hooked. They want to be on the show.BRER STITCH said:A good thing to come of this edition is that I bet lots of parents let their 7 and 9 year olds stay up and watch it because of the kids in the race.
So, we give them "tasks" around the house in Detour style. A classic is P00p or Play. In P00p, teams will have to clean the dog p00p from the backyard. It's kind of gross, but teams that can hold their noses may finish quickly. In Play, teams must clean the basement play room. There's nothing scary about the task, but cleaning the entire play room could take ... a long time.
Excellent points!BRER STITCH said:The best story to come out of this year's version is that the Paolo's may actually come out of this a better family....which is better than any therapist could ever have done for them!
...and that's a good thing!
