The 60th Anniversary of Disneyland: The Reality of it All

I guess I'm a geek, but I'm happy I will be seeing 'Fantasy' when I'm back in town come September.
It's 'old school'...and it definitely has that vibe.

I like seeing a fireworks show that plays earlier Disney tunes instead of the same tired 'greatest hits' we have in seemingly everything else staged on property ( looking at you, 'Under the Sea'..)
Oh...and NO 'Frozen' included!
:D

I Hope to go for my first time before the celebration ends with my friends. Do the 60th Dooney's sell well ? I know they've sold out online after Disney had them 30% off(I had to pay for my tuition and books and couldn't buy them then unfortunately ) and a lot of the 60th merchandise but the big brands have yet to hit the Orlando outlets. We're driving to Orlando to fly from there and will hit up the outlets to get some 60th stuff to save for another DL trip in 2017.

Also is DL really strict on the 2 per person per limited pin series? A few of us defintely want to complete a limited edition set while we're there
each and no way could we do it if that's the case. These will be our first pins so we don't have any to trade anyone.

What I don't understand is why Disney won't just bring back Magical. Seems the easiest, most logical and most obvious choice (though not the one I'd personally choose).

I was told by my friend involved in those shows that 'Magical' was being considered and might also be seen again, in a form that also adds projections.

When I heard from him earlier this Summer, the rumors were going around about 'Forever' being shelved due to the costs involved in running it.
He then confirmed for me that 'Forever' was indeed going bye bye, and to expect to see 'Fantasy' replace it temporarily after the 60th celebration ends in September.
The simplistic 'Fantasy..' runs so the changeover in equiptment can happen backstage in the pyro department to present 'Remember...' again.

I remember at that time he said 'Magical' was also being considered to return at some point, and like 'Remember..' there were plans to add projections.
I took this to mean additional projections specific for the Show, similar to what was done for 'Forever' using the buildings and existing structures to project images onto.
That may well have changed by now.

Thanks for elaborating. Interesting to hear about all of this, to be honest. I like knowing the ins-and-outs of it all, I guess.

Well I hope they ditch the Wishes theme song if Remember comes back. Forever's theme song is much better.
I understand ditching Wishes as that song is old, but as for Live the Magic, that song is as dry as anything I've ever heard and I won't miss it one bit. Kiss Goodnight is the real masterpiece.

Yesterday on the live stream for Paint the Night, Erin Glover confirmed Disneyland Forever and WOC: Celebrate both end September 5th. She did not say anything about Paint the Night, but when a user commented "Can't wait to see it in person" She said "Better do it soon!" ...

Hi :)

Does anybody know what will be playing in the place of World of Colour Celebrate! from the 6th September if it is indeed finishing on the 5th?

Thanks :)
I see 4 options
1) Goes dark to remove some effects
2) Goes dark for a small refurb and to update the original WOC
3) Switches to the original WOC that they left off on.
4) Show has already received updates over the last couple months (during the night) to incorporate the new effects and scenes.

Ok thank you :)

I'm really hoping it's number 3, going back to the original, because I personally preferred that version .
I also had a look on the World of Colour page and it says it ends on the 5th but then there are times for the 6th as well
